Like many hotels in the Ellensburg area, this one needs upgrading. I think the number of visitors to the university for events and graduations makes people desperate for a place to stay and it makes hotel owners continue to charge high rates for low quality hotels.
Things that work:
- AC works
- Bed was clean
- Hot water and shower worked
- No bugs that I could see
- No spots that I could not identify
Things that could use fixing:
- I pulled the shower water on/off knob off thinking that you needed to pull to get the water to come on rather than just turn it. I put it back on and hand tightened the screw, but it worked.
- The trim around the door looked like a woodpecker had gone crazy on it. I suspect that several people have pushed the door hard enough to pull the locking device out of the door jam; thus, they had moved it downwards 5 or 6 times trying to "fix it".
- They use way to much chlorine in the pool. It was hard to stand at the reception area without believing your lungs were being damaged for inhaling it.
All that said, if you just need a place to sleep, it works, but I honestly do not believe it was worth the price we paid per night. To me, this hotel should cost less than a $150 a night hotel after room cost and taxes.
