Beautiful setting, spacious table setting plan so not on top of other tables. Menu has good choices, team friendly and knowledgeable. Large outside area with play area for children if needed. Large car park and lots of electric hook ups if needed.

We stopped here yesterday as they have a Tesla supercharger and we needed to charge up for the rest of our journey. We went in for some drinks, nobody came up to us as we sat waiting to be seen for at least 15 minutes with staff ignoring us, even tho we were trying to make eye contact to see when someone would come and see us to a table. Eventually I approached a lady who was friendly enough, we said we only wanted drinks, although we would have preferred inside seats, she ushered us to the garden area which was lovely as the weather was beautiful. When we went in and asked for the drinks menu one of the staff (older lady with short blond hair) huffed and almost rolled her eyes before snapping up the menu and giving it to my hubby. I feel like she was a little rude and maybe we were inconveniencing the restaurant as it was around lunch time and they would have preferred us to buy food but just drinks. We sat for about 45 mins, my hubby had a local lager which was lovely, I had tea and my little one had hot chocolate. We left as soon as drinks were finished as we didn't feel very welcome. The place itself is stunning, clean and the menus looked lovely. Lots of beautiful old photos Sharing a piece of its history! Maybe we just caught the lady on a bad day but after our experience I'm not sure we would return.

I love the decor at The Elveden Inn, but unfortunatly the food is sometimes very dissapointig. As was today. I suppose it all depende on who is the cheff on the day. I took a couple of friends along as they had not been there previously. We went for Sunday Roast which was very mediocre. They had Beef, Pork and Turkey on the menu. We all asked for a slice of each (which we get when we go to another local pub for a carvery) but, the weitress came back and said 'I am sorry but we will have to charge you an extra £6.00 each'. When we asked 'well how many slices of meat is standard'? she replied '2 large slices' we thought that this was a bit exorbitant so opted for one selection. We had specifically asked for crispy roast potatoes, but when our meal arrived, the potatoes had hardly spent any time in the oven. So were returned. When a second batch of potatoes arrived, it was obvious that they had been dunked into a deep fat fryer. We only had two medium sices of meat, and the vegetables were only luke warm. So overall very dissapointing. We will not be going back for a Sunday Roast. Fortunatly the desert was very nice. We all went for the Bakewell tart with clotted cream Ice Cream.

Lovely one night stay. All staff I saw were nice and happy to help. I was walked to my room as I was in the garden room across from the main building. Room lovely. Immaculate and stylish. Great shower and comfy bed. Breakfast good too. I'd stay again if in the area.

Disappointing and poor quality Sunday lunch , limited vegetables selection , small portions compared to others . We do not feel our lunch was very good value in comparison to other restaurants. This used to be a place for a good lunch. And a 10 percent sneaky service charge !

Had a lovely stay with my family. We stayed in the Singh Room which was incredibly clean and welcoming, with the added bonus of some great history. The food and room were good, but it was the staff who made our stay outstanding. My teenager is autistic and without even having to explain they were quick to ensure he had a brilliant stay. I always mean to write a review of places, but this time I've written it immediately as they really deserve praise for being so intuitively helpful and friendly. Can't wait to return!

Four of us had lunch at the Elveden Inn today with three people choosing the roast salad main course. It was very disappointing. Basically, three ingredients - carrot, red cabbage and chickpeas. It was unappetising and completely dominated by the strong red cabbage which was coarsely chopped and raw. It felt very much like the vegetable leftovers from Christmas. I think it cost £13? In reality, it probably cost a few pence to make. Please do not serve this dish again.

My wife, daughter and Labrador Jessie stayed from the Friday 27th to the Saturday 28th. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We dined in the restaurant Friday eve in what was a very busy evening (a good sign in my opinion). The surrounding area great for walkers and dog owners alike. We were looking forward to the remainder of the weekend through to Sunday morning but unfortunately we had a medical emergency and had to drive our daughter to hospital. The staff and in particular the gentleman who was front of house were extremely understanding with the situation and laid our minds to rest with the added concerns about our room and booking out under the circumstances. It wasn’t just about the stay and the great atmosphere and food it was also about the human approach by staff during our plight. Highly recommend you eat, drink, sleep and be merry at this Hotel.

We had a very pleasant country stay in Elveden Inn. We only stayed one night to be within reach of Bury St Edmonds of which we had heard and read good things and which proved to be justified. One of us is Coeliac and providing gluten food presented no problem at dinner and breakfast. It was particularly reassuring that the waiting staff confirmed the fact when they were serving gluten free food. We stayed in Barn Owl which was immaculate with a very comfortable bed. We live in a quiet village, so, with the windows open, we noticed some traffic noise from the ‘B’ road which runs past the Inn but very little could be heard of the much busier A11 dual carriageway further away. The whole ambience of Elveden Inn, both the building and the staff is pleasant and friendly with excellent service professionally offered. It has to be said that we visited at a fairly quiet time but a small conference party assembling while we breakfasted did not intrude nor cause delays. The food at dinner and breakfast was very tasty and well presented with a reasonable, although not wide, choice. A small supplementary menu added to the selection. Dogs are welcome and are allowed in bedrooms and the bar area of the restaurant. There are several Tesla EV charging points in the car park with more coming on stream soon. There is one double Pod Point charger. Altogether Elveden Inn gets top marks and we recommend it.

Non existent service. Walked in on a Tuesday night. Asked if they had a table for two. Older waitress said “in the bar” and walked away from us. After 15 minutes of not being served, we tried to order drinks at the bar (which we were say directly in front of). The bar was not busy. The woman behind the bar said “if you sit down you’ll be served by someone most likely.” Waited 10 more minutes without being served. Didn’t seem likely we would be served and then once we were the wait would be long. We left and took our service elsewhere!

Great welcome and request for early breakfast was not an issue as we were heading to agricultural show the next day. Stayed in the Brown Hare room, very nice with a good countryside view. Breakfast next morning was excellent and despite being only a cooked option, missing cereal for one day wasn't an issue. Despite Inn being close to a main road, road noise at night is not a issue and rooms overlook the pub garden or adjacent countryside. We would definitely stay here again. Only one criticism, found the double bed a bit small, there is room on either side to replace with a larger bed in due course, but when you're used to a larger bed, it does disturb sleep.

We did not expect anything special of the Elvedon but pleased to say all was good. Nice comfortable room- though at the front- so lots of road noise as windows had to be open on a hot night. Good breakfast made fun by Leon. Some refurbs going on but mainly around reception

My wife and I stayed here on a short break along with our dog. And we really enjoyed our stay. We arrived early, and were expecting to wait to check in. But the lady on reception said it was not a problem and checked us in and showed us to our room. The room was a good size, and was clean and tidy. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was nicely appointed. We ate dinner in the hotel on our first night, and area we were sat in with our dog was very pleasant. The food was superb and service was friendly and efficient. Breakfast on both mornings was lovely and nicely cooked. We enjoyed all our choices. We could not fault any part of stay. The hotel is nicely decorated and seems well maintained. The staff we met were all friendly and helpful. And the food and drink was enjoyable. We would happily stay here again and have no problem recommending it.

I met with a friend & we had lunch. We both felt it was an effort for staff to deal with us & refused to be seated where we wanted as they said they were busy & the tables were all reserved, but they were clearly not. The food when it arrived wasn't very nice, we had the scampi, which was OK but the peas were watery & the chips could've been cooked more they weren't very nice at all. We won't be going back.
