尼頓酒店(The Nyton Guesthouse)

Fawlty Towers is at least funny. This is a disaster zone. Arrived and no-one competent could check us in so we waited for 45 minutes. Seating area freezing. All doors flung open to get rid of smoke smell. Manager arrived and basically complained about how bad his life was. Our room was so dated, mouldy and grim. Shower was a dribble of icy cold or scalding hot only. I went upstairs in my towel to use my sons room because we were tight for time, heading to a wedding. After our meal out my son panicked because everything in his room had disappeared. Manager had moved it to another room without warning. Bed creaking, rubbish mattress and next door to cisterns filling and emptying all night so no sleep. We left without the breakfast we'd paid for because everything was so terrible. Worst hotel we've ever stayed in. Please avoid. It's awful.

We arrived early and asked if we could leave the car was told yes no problem and your room is ready. We were showed to our room and the facilities were explained to us. A very warm welcome. The house is a little dated but our room was clean. Breakfast was lovely but they were not sure about allergens. Staff were friendly . We would definitely stay again if we were in the area.

Yep, this place is weird. No lights, no lit sign, no lit driveway, no staff - our key was left at reception - all the lights were off in this big old spooky mansion We literally had to turn the building's lights on ourselves. The main area downstairs had a Christmas tree - we had to switch the lights on for that, too - under which were some presents - some opened, some still wrapped, some discarded wrapping paper. It was wood-panelled with a lot of old photos on the walls, the bar was shut with a metal grill. Our room was very old-fashioned, although it seemed clean. The decor was quite tired and the bathroom in need of updating. We actually enjoyed sitting in the living area - telling spooky stories - until the alarm suddenly went off in the middle of the night. Fortunately, I was able to get behind the reception area and work out how to switch it off. With no staff, I'm not sure what we would have done otherwise. At about 2am this man turns up - walks in - we assume he's the owner - we head upstairs to our room. The following morning we come downstairs to check out - once again, the place is deserted. Freakin odd!!! We felt like we'd been punked!!

Stayed for one night as our usual hotel was fully booked. A beautiful old house with a nice large garden overlooking the golf course Clean room, comfortable bed, tea coffee available. Shower a little small for me but thats more my problem than the shower size. Brilliant breakfast in a beautiful old dinning room. Small problem with the tv in our foom but problem sorted very quickly. The owner very friendly. Will we stay here again? Yes.

We all enjoyed our stay and were well looked after by Robert at the Nyton. The breakfast was great with lots of choice...not only Full English on the menu e.g Porridge and Smoked Haddock. The large garden is fabulous with lots of seating areas and trees. Location is good 10 mins walk to Ely Cathedral and the Train Station.

The hotel/ guest house is in need of refurbishment. The bathroom shower had a nasty smell, so we had to keep the door closed. In order to fill the kettle a large plastic jug is provided which hangs in the shower. Some sockets did not work. On the plus side, the breakfast was lovely, and when I asked if they had a magnifying mirror one was quickly found. Ely is lovely, and the hotel is well situated.

A distinctive old world charm. A couple of issues but easily overcome and remedied. A pleasant evening meal on our aarival day.

My stay was very comfortable and the hotel was very convenient for my needs. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Didn’t actually stay although we were booked. The condition of the ‘hotel’ was such that we felt uncomfortable due to the untidiness and clutter everywhere which would make it impossible to clean to meet covid recommendations. The rooms we were offered had a distinct offensive smell. The fabric of the building was also uninviting.
