A remote hotel with excellent services and surrounding views. The Grill offers excellent food and its services is wonderful. Room is clean and tidy, highly recommended.

The hotel is grossly over priced. It is not a four star hotel. At $500 @ night maybe but I would never pay $1200 for it. The food is terrible, grossly over priced and not worth it. I paid $22+ for a trout board. It was basically all bread and slivers literally maybe 6 slivers of trout... most were all smaller than the size of my thumb. My son's breakfast was gross. Nothing is comp'd even you don't eat any part of it because it's gross. We won't be back.

This hotel clearly does well as it has no competition. We found the staff unhelpful and twice bookings we had asked to be made for us for dinner did not happen. We were told on booking the hotel there was no hotel car to collect us from the airport, though we saw hotel cars on arrival (?). The food in both restaurants was slow to come out and average in quality. This hotel is not up to the standard one would expect and is hugely overpriced.

I wanted to love it. The surroundings are epic. The window frames the majestic mountains and surrounding hills. There are many paths to walk and bike and the walk to the Yellowstone river is beautiful. But when we arrived they didn't' have the room I booked and said they would put us upstairs in a balcony room for one night and then the next day put us in the walk out room. We went upstairs-no balcony. We didn't complain as it was only for the night. We went to the Grill restaurant that night and we waited 2 hours for our food which then came cold. We sent it back and it came out again but it was inedible. it was supposed to Wagyu beef but it was so tough. The next day we had trouble at breakfast again. Cold eggs and trout. The highlight of the stay was Tanner the fishing guide. He was just am amazing. At lunch time we were moved into our other room and it was so bad. There was a big portable AC unit roaring in the room and we couldn't open he door because the screen couldn't close. There was a gigantic piece of plywood running from floor to ceiling of the door into which the machine was attached. That night the general manager told us that dinner was on them to make up for all the trouble. But at the end of the night they charged us for the meal anyway. The staff there were very nice, but we could tell that they had heard that we were trouble and we made them uncomfortable. We stopped eating here after the second day and left feeling like they could have done so much better.

This was our 5th or 6th stay at Sage and by far the most disappointing. Cleanlinees, food, and service were significantly lacking in comparison to prior years. Would suggest evaluation of the services. Furthermore, would make sure all customers are given attention and that staff not state “arrivals take precedence over current guests” when asked… Sage is a beautiful place and I hope to be able to come again, but will think twice about where I stay next year…

We have returned to Sage Lodge for three years in a row. The lodge is beautiful and the staff is always amazing. Every year, there are extra added amenities. I particularly liked the upgrade in coffee service throughout the day instead of shutting down at 9am. Also, the eagles and swans over the lake in front of the Grill Side Room for breakfast were amazing. Be sure to have a treatment at the Spa...you will not regret it.

Incredible experience for our company retreat! From the cleanliness of the rooms, thoughtful amenities, activities, planning experience, top notch food and beverage and exceptional service in every department Sage Lodge was a dream retreat location. The stunning location is just the icing on the cake! A great time was had by everyone on our team and we can't thank the Sage Lodge crew enough! Looking forward to future stays as a company and individuals.

We were very impressed with the design and landscape at the property and had high hopes for our week long stay - especially at $1200 a night. We loved the lodge feel - very impressive throughout- lots of places to hang out - games available in the high ceiling lobby area with huge windows overlooking the trout lake & breathtaking mountains. A sweet fire pit area to sit, chairs outside the rooms, a coffee & snack area - all great! Our bed was comfortable and the room was well designed. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed the Al fresco hot tub. What didn’t work for us was the service. We were there for a week and apart from the occasional ’welcome back’ as we came back from our activities, none of the staff seemed very interested in elevating our experience. Except for Tanner - who gave us some excellent personal recommendations of things to do in the area - he was interested, enthusiastic & knowledgeable - this is the kind of service we were expecting throughout our stay. Dinner at the fireside was mediocre and our breakfasts were cold. Breakfast service was good but in the evening servers were clearly overwhelmed as there clearly weren’t enough of them. We had the prawn aguachile starter and it was bland - it tasted like it was made with cucumber water - not zesty & fresh like it should be. The cocktails were excellent ! But again, service was lacking in warmth - we were expecting 5 star resort service with what we paid to be there and that isn’t what was delivered. And lastly, housekeeping - very disappointing. We had to ask for our toiletries to be refilled after 3 days waiting. It felt like they just did the bare minimum as in a quick wipe of the counter and make the bed. They didn’t clean our cups or replenish teas. Overall, we loved the property and really hope that they elevate their service or lower their prices to more clearly reflect their offering. I think they could be ‘that’ property but they need to work on investing in their staff to uplift their service. Happy staff makes for elevated service!

We had a company retreat at Sage Lodge. Everything was flawless! The staff were friendly and personable, the food was incredible, the rooms spotless. I would highly recommend Sage Lodge for business or pleasure.

I have been to Sage Lodge on a few occasions for business and pleasure, both during winter and in summer. Every experience has been consistently spectacular. They offer a wide array of amenities and activities (in addition to the scenery). I am already looking forward to my next visit!

The Lodge and staff far exceeded my expectations. A great place to unwind and enjoy the scenery, great food, good ambiance, and very comfortable accommodations. Don't forget to bring your bathing suit!

Posto incantevole. Se si viene in Montana consiglio vivamente di alloggiare qui. Servizio ottimo, personale molto disponibile, camere spaziose e dotate di ogni comfort. All’interno del lodge si mangia molto bene. Consiglio il wildlife tour nello Yellowstone fatto con loro. Esperienza stupenda. Soggiorno bellissimo.

Stayed here with my family of three including our 7-year old son. The lodge is beautiful and the rooms are great. That is the positive. What’s missing is the local authentic experience, service and warmth/love that you want to feel staying at a lodge in Montana. Everything at Sage Lodge is outsourced and the service is terrible. Especially considering the rates, rooms over $1K a night. Beyond licensing the Sage name, there is little to no connection with the Sage fly fishing brand.

The lodge experience and surroundings were so beautiful and amazing that we felt like we were in a Hollywood Cowboy Movie! The restaurants served fantastic food, the views of mountains, fields and rivers were serene and peaceful. The perfect setting for the outdoor wedding we attended.
