Hotel Sonnwendhof Engelberg

We have visited this hotel many times and this is the first time back since COVID. The hotel is beautifully situated in the Lucerne area and Engleberg is a great place to unwind and be truly 'in the mountains'. This are has so much to offer and has plenty to do all year round. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and welcoming the rooms are very comfortable and clean. We hope to be back next year!

We stayed 3 days at Hotel Sonnwendhof and I can definitely recommend it as for a short stay and for a long vacation. The hotel is very well maintained! The people, who work there really care about their customers making them comfortable as home. The room we had was spacious, with a balcony and comfy bed. The hotel has an inside children entertaining room. Breakfast is excellent and oriented for kids as well. It offers many local goods. The restaurant offers a 3 course dinner at St. Josefshaus hotel, which was pretty decent and not expensive. There are a lot of hiking trails around Engelberg including Titlis - 3000 meters above sea level. You can find easy routes with kids and a lot of options for experienced hikers. Coop supermarket is a in a walking distance as well as Engelberg's public pool. And the hotel has its own sauna! We would definitely get back to the hotel another time!

Der Empfang war der Beginn von wundervollen 3 Tagen. Alles sind freundlich, zuvorkommend, aufmerksam. Selbst wenn man sich im Dorf trifft wird für einen kleinen Schwatz angehalten. Und alles immer mit einem herzlichen Lachen im Gesicht. Das Zimmer war der Wahnsinn. Nicht nur die herzliche Willkommenskarte auf dem Bett, selbst auf dem Spiegel fand sich ein Willkommensgruss. Das Badezimmer war sehr sauber, der Duschkopf hatte kein bisschen Kalk dran oder andere Flecken. Vom Boden hötte man essen können. Die Betten sind gross und bequem. Die Bettdecken herrlich flauschige Daunendecken. Nur das Kissen wir mir persönlich zu klein und zu hart. Aber das ist fast jammern auf hohem Niveau. :-) Vom Balkon geniesst man eine herrliche Sicht über Engelberg und in die Berge. Wir waren auf der Seite Richtung Bruni. Das Frühstück war sensationell. Wir sind jeweils erst nach 9 Uhr frühstücken gegangen und kennen es da of**als so, dass das Buffet bereits zerlesen ist. Aber im hier sieht selbst nach 9 Uhr das Frühstück aus wie erst gerade aufgestellt. Nichts mangelt, alles vorhanden und die Auswahl ist mehr als genug. Was mich persönlich auch sehr begeistert hat, ist die Reinlichkeit selbst bei den Stühlen. Da wurde nicht der selbe Lappen benutzt für Tisch und Stuhl, jede Fläche hat seinen eigenen. Einfach nur Top. Fazit: Hier kann man sich nur wohlfühlen, entspannen und zufrieden wieder abreisen.

Had 2 nights here after a night in Zurich and came here by train then only a short walk from the station. We were able to get an early check-in which was very handy, the room was typical Swiss and comfy but would have been handy to have a kettle in the room. Breakfast was very good and Luzcia was a very good host.

I've stayed in many hotels in Europe and the Sonnwendhof in Engelberg is definitely one of the best, and possibly the best! The hotel is very close to the gondola and the hotel is clean and nice, has nice rooms, bathrooms, and showers. But the best part is the staff! Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful! They go above and beyond to accommodate you and any special requests you have. We were a group of 28 and some had dietary restrictions, which the hotel was very accommodating! And Silvia was phenomenal! She was always helpful, smiling, and friendly! Multiple people in our part commented on how great she is! I highly recommend this hotel if going to Engelberg!

Was wir besonders schätzen and diesem Haus ist, dass es keine 100m vom Bahnhof Enbgelberg entfernt ist. Wir kommen gerne entschleunigt und mit dem Zug in die schöne Bergwelt. Da macht es einen Unterschied, ob man den Koffer noch weit schleppen muss. Im Sonnwendhof selbst wurden wir auch diesmal mit der strahlenden Herzlichkeit des besonders engagierten Teams empfangen. Das Superior Zimmer im 4. Stock hatte eine schöne Aussicht auf die Berge und die Sauna hatten wir ganz für uns alleine. Vom Sonnwendhof ist man zu Fuss in wenigen Minuten bei der Titlis-Bahn und auch zum Nachtessen im Ort kommt man überall gut ohne Fahrzeug hin. So lässt sich‘s gut leben!

O hotel está muito bem localizado próximo à estação de trem de Engelberg, facilitando a movimentação dos viajantes, bem como o acesso aos serviços que a cidade oferece. Nós chegamos no domingo à tarde e encontramos com Sra. Silvia, que nos recebeu com muita gentileza e nos informou sobre os serviços e as instalações do hotel. Nós nos sentimos acolhidos pela sua hospitalidade e carinho com o qual fomos recepcionados. No café da manhã fomos atendidos pela Sra. Indre, que com muita simpatia e doçura, nos proporcionou uma agradável refeição com produtos típicos da região. Ela nos explicou curiosidades que tínhamos com relação à geleia de "Dandelion", flores lindas que nascem e embelezam os campos suíços. Foi muito divertido! Está propriedade e sua equipe é um encanto e nos faz sentir como se estivéssemos na casa de nossa vovó! Aquele sentimento de que já nos conhecíamos. Tudo isso, na mais charmosa vila suíça, aos pés do monte Titlis! Foi encantador. Gostaríamos de agradecer a toda a equipe do hotel, em especial a Sra. Silvia e a Sra. Indre. Quanto carinho e receptividade! Nada poderia ter sido melhor. Essa cidade é romântica, charmosa e esse hotel é uma joia com arquitetura típica suíça! Hôtel situé à proximité des pistes. On s’y sent comme en famille. L’accueil est très chaleureux. Les chambres sont grandes, le lit immense avec une bonne literie. Petit déjeuner avec produits locaux ou faits maison. On peut s’y rendre jusqu’à 10h30 ! Parking sous l’hôtel accessible à de grands voitures. Grand local à skis, clair et chauffé. Seul inconvénient : la chambre à côté de l’ascenseur, son fonctionnement vous réveille le matin. Petit local avec sauna en sous sol.

Zeer gastvrij personeel en een goed ontbijt. Kamer met balkon en uitzicht op de bergen. Sauna niet bezocht dus niet te beoordelen. Het hotel ligt vlakbij de Titlislift en de tandradbaan. Goed bed. Geen 5 sterren omdat we moesten douchen in het bad.
