I stayed at the hostel a week ago. It was reasonably priced, had what it advertised and is in a good location. I had a slightly strange experience with handling a change to the booking, though, which is worth recording and others’ being aware of. I booked 4 nights at the hostel late on Sunday, and arrived there midday on Monday. When I arrived, I said I’d like to instead stay 2 nights as I’d heard of another hostel I wanted to move to mid-week. I was told I couldn’t change my booking and have a refund for the other two nights. Despite this, I received a phone call at 12pm after 2 nights stay telling me that I was checking out late and that i must move my stuff immediately. As it happens, I was on my way to the doctors and couldn’t do so. I also thought this was unfair as I’d paid for the bed. The hostel staff were not reasonable, insisted that I moved my stuff, and didn’t respond to my queries that I had paid for 4 nights, so I should be able to check out anytime I wished to that day - still 2 nights short of what I paid for. Overall, I suggest the the hostel has a bit of a think as to their communicating with customers - It didn’t change even after I mentioned I was quite unwell and that I was away from the hostel and so couldn’t move even if required to. Unrelatedly, the breakfast was a bit poor - it consisted of margarine and bread, some spreads and cereal, with UHT milk and from-concentrate juice. I’d factor in buying or making your own breakfast if you stay. Nonetheless, guests were nice, room was clean, and beds were comfy.
