Lovely hotel...although we arrived in a wind storm and the noise in the hotel corridors was loud and rather spooky! Everything calmed down the next day and we enjoyed all the pools, cocktails and spa facilities. Breakfasts and dinners both excellent, car hire really easy (although we asked for the car to be changed as the air conditioning had broken) and there was no sat nav, so it was back to good old map reading! Rooms comfortable and slightly snug. The only downside was our welcome - or lack of it - from a stout, middle aged lady dressed in black, who was miserable, unhelpful and did not create the great first impressions we all hope for when we arrive at a hotel. 10 out of 10 to Monica who helped us with our taxi back to the airport and also the front of house porter who was lovely and picked us up in the free shuttle bus to Paguera. Would we go back? Yes we would

4 star rating overall from me. There are imperfections, but I wouldn't read too much in to some of the recent very negative reviews. Located at the far end of Magaluf, towards Cala Vinyes, but within 10 minutes or so walk of the ”bright lights” of the ***** if wanted. I caught public bus A11 from the airport which takes around 40 minutes and drops less than a 10 minute walk away - all for the princely sum of 6.75 euros (that becomes cheaper if you tap on and off using a contactless card - but mine wouldn't work). A taxi is c. 50 euros. The beach is only a couple of minutes walk away out of the front door, albeit the slope / steps are quite steep and, not untypically for Spain, it appears the last couple of steps were never properly finished so have to be exited sidewards. We were a group of middle aged lads, occupying three rooms, one in block 2 (above reception) and two in block 1. The rooms varied but were all clean and tidy, TVs had a choice of UK channels, and (large refillable type) shampoo and shower gel were provided. My mini fridge was fully stocked (water, beer and soft drinks), but the other two rooms weren't (maybe because I'm a Hyatt club member and booked directly?). My safety deposit box needed a new battery that I had to follow up on day 2 for it to be fixed (they wanted me to be present to fix it). This hotel, that I suspect was born from amalgamation of 2 or maybe even 3 hotels, tries to be all things to all people - with clients ranging from young families with children, through couples, groups and the retired. It is large, with multiple pools, and a choice of food and drink venues were available (noting recent reviews about a slow start to the season, low occupancy and limited choice etc). Late afternoon check in was smooth and efficient for me, but I appreciate if bus loads arrive at the same time it could be lengthy. We were all inclusive and food and drink was generally good, albeit as others have noted, you need to keep an eye on things being fully cooked - we had to waste some under cooked chicken. Labelling was also an issue with some missing and others confused - baked beans labelled as ”small black pudding” being an example. See sample menus from Tapas and Burger ”Market Street” venues. We were able to use these ”specialities” at leisure, but I suspect they might be limited or need to be pre-booked in high season. There are some anomalies about what drinks are included - some cocktails are and others aren't. For example, Mojito is extra? The entertainment during our stay was mixed. The (newly arrived) team work hard, but things weren't perfect - the promised music quiz on our last night wasn't delivered for example. That said, the live singers weren't bad. We had a Beatles tribute band, and 90s retro live singers. The pools aren't heated, but were fine once you got in - the weather being mid 20's and sunny when I was there (9th to 13th May). 接待處的愉快入住人爲我們7名成年女性的聚會,我們之間有4間客房。房間很小,很基本(沒有洗浴用品),我忍不住注意到枕頭套上有難聞的氣味。食物是“ok”,不是那麼熱,很高興我不挑剔,“全包”不存在....你得到的是3個含酒精飲料(啤酒或葡萄酒)與午餐然後與晚餐相同。軟飲料,泥漿都是包容的。沒有入住晚上娛樂,所以無法評論。晚上在着陸等非常吵的酒店。遺憾的是,我不會回來。再次,退房桌上的友好傢伙允許我使用禮貌的房間,只有10分鐘的通知。所以謝謝。

For many years, our favorite holiday destination has been Cupidor. We have been coming here for many years because the family that owns the hotel goes out of their way to make your holiday truly unforgettable. The kitchen, which is presented in the hotel is beyond praise, exactly the same as the location. Very close to the sea and ennobled with excellent green area. In turn, we can advise everyone who comes to Mallorca exactly Cupidor, because of all the places in Mallorca, it is this place that has sunk into our souls with its charm and wonderful conditions.

What a fantastic holiday to celebrate my 40th birthday. This hotel is right up in the mountains of Mallorca, the journey from the airport took around 1 hour in a taxi. We were greeted by the receptionist who was very welcoming and got us signed in very quickly being around midnight we just wanted bed. Room spotless, spacious and the sea view was fantastic. No UK television channels however, not that we were here to watch tv but nice to have when getting ready etc. The pool area is very quiet and relaxing, we spent quite some time at the lower deck where there is a small jacuzzi type pool. Very relaxing. The bar staff were very attentive and would bring drinks out to us during the day. Breakfast was fantastic, fresh breads (and a toaster), fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurts, hot foods inc bacon, sausages and eggs. A coffee machine and fresh juices. Faultless!! We used the indoor spa facilities and had a back massage… fantastic and very reasonable at €45. Would highly recommend this hotel for a quiet relaxing holiday, probably wouldn’t bring our kids to somewhere like this as they’d probably be bored. Outside the hotel are a few restaurants in walking distance, a small shop with very small stock and a pharmacy. Perfect 4 day break as a couple, thoroughly enjoyed and going home feeling very relaxed.

Hit and miss I will find this review quite difficult to write as the Cupido has many good points, but, unfortunately for us, I think the negative aspects just about outweighed the positives. The main asset the hotel has is its staff who are hardworking and happy in their roles and constantly engage in a cheerful manner with guests throughout the day... they really are fantastic and a credit to the company. There are little touches that are very pleasing such as for the first welcome drink they don’t just offer you a watered down orange juice or 1/2 inch glass of wine but more or less anything you want from the bar (obviously within reason) such as tea, coffee, glass of wine or full pint of beer... good start! When by the pool or roof terrace the lovely staff will come round and offer you free slices of cold water melon to cool you off a bit... all thoughtful gestures. The rooms appear to be very hit or miss, we started with a definite 'miss' initially with a tiny dark room (no balcony) tucked in the corner of the building with a very small single window looking out onto the blocked out side of someone’s balcony about 3ft. away (see photos) - the bigger window to the right wasn’t ours. Admittedly we booked a room without balcony as we had no choice when booking with Jet2, however, Jet2 don’t appear to charge extra for a balcony room anyway - it was just that they had none left - so this shouldn’t really have affected what room we were allocated. But this is where the lovely staff come into play again, between the manageress Carlota and the lovely receptionist Paula, after 2 nights they managed to swop our room to one that still had no balcony but was bigger, brighter, floor to ceiling window with superb sea view... what a difference! We were 2 weeks half board so you would have thought they’d have put someone that was only staying a few days on B&B in the first room to save us the embarrassment of having to ask to move. We would have been really miserable in that dark room for the whole fortnight. We were half board and are by no means fussy eaters but we thought the evening meal choice very limited even for a small hotel. There was literally one meat, one fish, one pasta and one grill station choice - none of which were very appealing. There isn’t even the choice of something like pizza which is usually on every hotels menu. These were accompanied by a choice of one vegetable and one style of potato. Even my partner who will hoover up anything didn’t enjoy any of the evening meals. But to counteract that the breakfast was okay and the morning machine coffee was the best I’ve had in a long time. As I say hit and miss. The communal areas of the hotel are lovely and everywhere is spotless but, as others have stated, it is in a rather noisy area (even in low season) with street bar music finishing after 2am., people shouting in the street in the early hours and the glass and bin wagons making an awful racket around 6am. which isn’t very condu

HM Balanguera is a good hotel. It's located in a relatively calm street, with no much traffic. It's not in the very center of the city of Palma, but nevertheless the distance between the two points concerned isn't too long, and going on foot from one to the other turns up a nice walk. The hotel is very well decorated, particularly the lobby. It's very cosy thanks to being decorated with much taste. The breakfast room is somewhat special, There is a big table in the middle, at which all the guests having breakfast sit down and talk between themselves should the occasion arise. It's a nice way to associate with other people. The weak point as regards this room is that it's close to the kitchen, both rooms communicating with each other through a door. Most of time the door is open so that one can hear the yelling of the women working at the hotel. I used to close the door but it was again opened and thus we had to bear the said disturbance again. Another nuisance is the awful music played at breakfast time. Once I asked the receptionist kindly to reduce its volume. He was more than kind to stop the music completely, for which I was very grateful to him. The breakfast, by the way, is very good and abundant. Everything is of an excellent quality except the orange juice, which tastes too bad as to doubt on its artificial nature. The bedroom is quite peaceful and comfortable. I had a good stay at the hotel thanks to that. I hardly heard any noise while in the room. The bed is very comfy, it having a mattress with the right toughness for ensuring a good rest. And in the room there is everything needed for satisfying the necessities of the guests. I asked for a kettle and they kindly provided me with one. The staff members are all very kind and helpful. They do at every moment whatever possible to ensure that the guests feel as well as possible during their stay at the hotel. The hotel concerned is therefore a good place to stay in Palma de Mallorca, and one I would absolutely recommend to everyone wishing to have a pleasant and relaxing stay on the island.
