伍爾帕克客棧(Woolpack Inn)

Firstly I love this place and have been coming here for years. Stayed for 3 nights with friends who stayed for 2 nights. Rooms never cleaned. Had to ask for various bits for bedroom essentials. Breakfast was undercooked and had to ask for well done on last day. Decor needs updating and poor repairs need to stop. I understand they are understaffed as per the sign in the bar. Staff are brilliant and can't do enough for you. I just hope that this place survives.

Nice hotel had a nice quiet room. But spent most of the day out walking. Did have breakfast, Lunch and Dinner here but not always Lunch. Food was good and I did enjoy it. Staff were not the friendliest in the world. Sometimes it was quiet and just me there and I did feel I was just a bit of an annoyance to them being there. Would maybe try somewhere else next time. But it was good value.

We stayed for 1 night and it was very plesant staff were friendly and welcoming. we stayed in room 4 which had a beautiful mountain view room and was a dog room as we had our puppy with us. The room was a little cramped we kept falling over the bottom of the bed as it was very close to sofa. The bed was lovely and big although it was quite hard. We had breakfast the next morning which was very tasty but dry.

This stay was to be the base for a walk-up Scafell Pike. The staff at the hotel were superb and the facilities were great. After a 10-hour car journey from Southampton, we checked in 5 minutes after the kitchen closed. The young lady on reception realised and sorted a meal for us. Greeted at the bar, George couldn't have been more welcoming and obviously knew many of those around the bar. He later gave us great advice on the climb. The next morning, we asked to get a sandwich for the climb even though we hadn't pre-ordered, no problem, one bacon sandwich sorted!! The post climb beer and evening meal were taken in the main bar with other climbers/campers and was a friendly communal atmosphere. The breakfast the next morning was delicious. I would highly recommend this as a base for walks in the lake district.

just a one night stay but well looked after lovely cycle/walking options from here and fantastic surroundings Fperfect stay for walking / cycling ood and atmosphere was great and facilities were all good would definately return again for a longer holiday !

Extremely rude local who works at the pub. Very inconsiderate to the paying visitors who were enjoying a game on TV. Having been there all afternoon and spent over £100 local insisting on watching two spainish teams that no one is interested in. First and last time we'll be staying here the food is less than average and the menu is crap.

So we’re back again and once again we love it here. First time staying in the lodge which is amazing and the dogs have had so much fun. The food is excellent - recommend the Cumbrian Tattie Pot and the Hardknott Sticky Ribs. Breakfast is beautiful. Staff and owners friendly and amazing. It’s our last night today and we never want to go home. Can’t forget the pizza! Big pizza oven all hand made, perfect, tasty and addictive ! 😂 Thanks for our 10th perfect stay 🙌🏻

We did have a lovely stay, the staff were super friendly and made the effort to speak to us. We decided not to go with the bed and breakfast as we don’t tend to eat a lot but if you do go for it there’s lots to choose from or it’s £15 each but you get both continental and cooked breakfast with teas and coffees. The only down side for us was we found the menu in the restaurant did not offer a lot of things we like for a reasonable price (£12-16 per dinner dish) which we personally found quite expensive so we shared our meals. We also found the beds were not overly comfortable but other than that the stay was perfect for what we wanted to do when we were there! West lake adventures is right next door so we looked it up before and booked in to do paddle boarding at a beautiful lake which is about a 25 minute drive from Woolpack Inn and then on our final day on the way home we stopped at Stanley Ghyll Force Waterfall which was also really lovely! The glasses were dirty, we wiped them with a serviette and the rim was black. We asked for another glass and got asked why. Pizza was ok but no real taste too much cheap cheese. BBQ chicken could taste No BBQ sauce taste. When they came to collect the plates we were asked were we finished not how was the meal. Table was Also sticky not wiped between customers
