The location is excellent. We picked this hotel because it's on a direct line from our hometown, which meant I didn't have to lug luggage far at all. It was also in our small budget of roughly £50 a night. We used this location to go to different beaches accessed on the train, and as locations go, this is central to get you to most places fairly quickly and way cheaper than staying directly in We had a ground floor room with the new design. Within ten minutes of entering our room I could hear a small child running and jumping above our room, I went straight to reception and asked to move rooms, and unfortunately, we couldn't as they were full. The staff were helpful and friendly and said they could speak to the family above but I said let's see how it goes, At 9.30pm it was the same so a member of staff came into our room and heard for themselves and then went upstairs and spoke to the family, that said it continued until nearly 11pm. The next night we had the same again except this time until 11.30pm and then from 6am. I spoke with reception okay and said I think we'll go home and not stay our third and final night, the staff again were excellent and looked and the family were leaving that day, they logged it on their system, offered us a room change and complimentary breakfast, I felt awful to keep moaning but it really impacted the opportunity to relax. The third night we had a single occupant and we had no problems at all. The flooring is thin so if you are unfortunate to have a family above you then you maybe disturbed. I will stress the staff did everything they could, so if you do encounter any problems do talk to them, it amazes me as a parent myself that some parents let their children run riot in a hotel and show little regard towards other guests.. I noticed the review just posted had similar issues. It shouldn't be down to hotel staff to ask you to be more proactive in parenting your children. We had a just eat delivery who I met outside, ate one night in Exeter which is a 15 minute walk away and ate in the restaurant one night which was good. Thank you to all the staff for being lovely and understanding. I did call customer services when I got home and did receive a refund for the two nights.... although the representative said it's to be expected if saying in a hotel during the summer holidays, children are excitable..... Yes, within reason!! It shouldn't be at the detriment of others' enjoyment. This premier inn has amazon boxes just inside the hotel which was wonderful as I'd run out of travel shampoo and condition, ordered from home straight to the boxes and collected on arrival - great idea. Tip! If travelling as a couple, pay for the extra for the plus rooms. They are on the top floor, just wish they do twin rooms.
