Great place to stay and close to the airport. Clean with friendly staff. There is a small gift shop that has snacks if you need them. The breakfast is good and changes daily. I would stay there again.

Overall it was a very good stay. I just feel for 200 plus a night the rooms need attention. There was duct tape covering the threshold from floor to carpet—not nice to see. The chair at the desk had dried up food in all its nooks/cracks. The door way to the bathroom had rust spots along the molding. The drapes would not close all the way cause one side was hanging wrong or broken. The lighting in the bathroom should be brighter. Difficult to judge your makeup after getting ready plus no magnifying mirror to help older people who need bifocals. The carpet is very dark as well as the carpet in the corridors, just gives it a very dark feel—would like to see something more updated or that resembles the Lobby. Now on the plus side this place is pet friendly, smelled nice, and the breakfast options were great! The Lobby is bright and beautiful.

La Quinta was a bare-bones hotel with a stuffed bear and wolf in the lobby. (What do you expect in Fairbanks, Alaska?) The people were generally pleasant and helpful. There weren't nearly enough plug-ins for car heaters. Unfortunately, the night we arrived they weren't running a van to the airport. They told us to take a cab and they would pay the driver. We waited well over an hour to get a taxi. We discovered the hotel was only 1.5 miles from the airport--we could have walked there faster.

While the breakfast was fairly decent and the staff was very friendly, our room left things to be desired. -The towel rack in the the bathroom was super loose, the plunger on the bath faucet wouldn't raise all the way, and the bath faucet itself was coming away from the wall. -The bedroom looked clean upon first glance, however, when I looked under the bed, at the end of our stay, I was rather grossed out by all the lent, hair, a random child's toy, and even food (Crumbs and some sort of gummy candy?) that was under there. Do the rooms not get vacuumed between guests? -I also want to mention that, as we were getting ready on our last day, we tried using the iron, but to no avail. It wouldn't get hot and leaked water all over the floor....creating an electrical hazard.

I am giving up on La Quinta as a chain, never had a satisfactory experience. Hotel was shabby, worst bed linens I have ever experienced, lumpy bed, a totally inadequate comforter considering the sub zero conditions and frayed carpet. The worst was we discovered we had left an essential piece of warm clothing. We called and we told they would look in the room and to call back in 15 minutes!!!! I called back 3 times and gave up!

Basic hotel very much as expected however the thermostat did not work and we could not cool the room . Even on the middle of winter the temperature was 87 and there were strict instructions not to open the windows. Breakfast was fine but the amount of waste was appalling. The bathroom shampoos etc were still in small bottles which were not at all eco.

Decided to stay with 3 friends and 1 dog. Being this is pet friendly it’s a great option when over nighting in town. We were given room 320. Go upstairs and find that the room is occupied, open luggage bags, ect. Quickly close the door and go back to the desk. “The room you gave us is occupied..?” “Okay?” “So we obviously need a new room…” So she scratches out 320 and gives us 318. This time we go in the room (which is empty) the toilet is practically boiling. It has a high squeal from the pump, and it’s continuously running, the water is frothy and steaming. We call down to the desk, and report the problem. “Oh perfect, that’s just perfect!” Says the desk… so I go downstairs to get new keys for the third time now, and am greeted by a new front desk person, with a substantially happier disposition. In fact, every other person who worked at the desk was night and day to the first person we experienced. I’m kind of surprised we weren’t offered any kind of comp for the stay, in the end the last room we had was smaller than the room we paid for. But honestly just needed a hotel for a night. I hope the first employee we worked with has a change of heart, because the rest of the staff managed to keep me from getting really upset with the situation, thanks to their professionalism.
