We spent 3 enjoyable nights at Chain Locker in early Jan 2024. Our well appointed and attractive room had a nice view of the harbour. Very comfy bed with lovely bed linen. Only gripe was the too small hand basin with its stupid tap function!. Excellent cooked breakfast each morning and very good fish and chips in the evening. All the lovely staff were locals and very friendly and helpful. We’ve stayed in lots of St Austell pubs in Cornwall and always have a great experience.

Quirky hotel with rooms scattered in odd places. Great pub in the lower floor. The rooms are not overly spacious but they are clean, quiet, and modern. Good breakfast. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is right on the water in a vibrant part of Falmouth

All good, Room good, Food good, Beer good, Staff good all was as usual a great couple of days, I would recommend staying there, a great relaxing ambiance. The only thing that could improve the experience in my opinion would be a closer car park, but even that not being available does not detract from the overall pleasurable experience.

Best bed we've ever slept in in a hotel, lovely harbouring room, great view, room was very clean, although paint a little worn in small places. Staff and service wonderful, great breakfast. Nice location, central to town, and staying over a pub was a first for us and we made the most if it!

Stayed 2 nights (Saturday and Sunday) and on both nights did not get to sleep until after 3am. We had a town view room and it was so noisy with people passing and shouting. I have complained to the manager. It is such a shame as the staff are lovely. The situation of the pub is brilliant and breakfast was really good. Sadly it spoilt what was my birthday weekend.

Excellent food and service. (Had the sirloin steak baguette one lunchtime, and Cajun chicken burger the next day. Both very very good.) Lovely atmosphere in pub & restaurant. Really enjoyed the beautiful views everywhere. Friendly people, cheerful helpful staff. Warm and cosy in pub and room. Comfortable bed. Would recommend this pub to eat & drink & stay, and I will definitely be back. I had a wonderful time.

We enjoyed two nights in a superior room at the Chain Locker. Room was comfortable as was the bed. Good selection of tea/coffee in the room as well as a couple bottles of water. We had breakfast both mornings and can highly recommend the smashed avo and poached egg on baguette. Glad we were staying in winter as I can imagine in summer the guests sitting outside could be quite noisy at night. The staff were all efficient and friendly, making for a most enjoyable stay.

We stayed at The Chain Locker for five nights in January. The Inn was a joy to stay at. The room was comfortable, clean and presented beautifully. The breakfasts were a major problem as I struggled to choose which delectable dish to have from the comprehensive menu. Evening meals were also an absolute treat. Both of the beers I indulged in, Tribute and Proper Job were as good as I had been served throughout Falmouth they were obviously very well kept. However, I have left the best until last, the staff of the Chain Locker were an absolute credit to their Manager James and to St Austells. Erin, Lydia and Harry (to name but a few) could not have been more helpful whilst also being very efficient, good fun and courteous. Well done to James the Manager and thanks for a terrific stay.

Superior room was comfortable and great value for money. Mid-winter so no noise issues from pub guests outside. Staff very friendly. The breakfast smashed avocado on baguette with a poached egg was very tasty, as was the scambled on baguette. The location is ideal for exploring the centre of Falmouth and the dining room has great harbour views. No parking but longterm parking options not too far away.

Superb service and a great atmosphere from James and the Team with a fabulous breakfast & superb dinner - we will be back AGAIN! The room, as pictured was gorgeous with great views. Lovely toiletries, Elemis, and great coffee machine. all the staff are always so positive and happy - they clearly enjoy their roles as nothing is missed.

We had a 3 night stay in December and had a great time. We were in The Muriel room with two windows overlooking the harbour. The staff make this place, they were excellent in every way, friendly, efficient and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotelss, the bed very comfortable, breakfast and dinner absolutely delicious. The pub quiz held in the cosy bar the week before Christmas was an absolute blast, one of the highlights of our Christmas! We had no trouble sleeping at all but then it was a quiet time of year. The location can't be bettered if you want to be close to the water, shops and attractions. We will definitely be back.

It's always a pleasure to celebrate a week's stay in Falmouth. It starts with the Sea Shanty Festival and ends with a meal at The Chain Locker. Easy to book, great welcome on arrival. Drinks ordered including another fine pint of St Austell's Tribute, which is kept superbly at anytime of the year. Menu a standardised one for St Austell's tied pubs with a little bit of variation. Three lovely meals; mine being slightly unusual in that I ordered two starters. All arrived at the same time as requested. Emily was a very attentive table host without being intrusive. Always a pleasure to eat and drink at this well located and atmospheric pub on the Falmouth waterfront.

We had an excellent 2 night break at the Chain Locker. We had a corner room named endeavour overlooking the harbour, the room was so light, bed very comfortable, shower was excellent and room facilities were first class. The bar area was very cosy with the log fires which were very welcome as it was very cold outside. Breakfast was first class with excellent choice. Staff in all areas were very welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely recommend the Chain Locker

Comfortable bed, lovely bed linen. Excellent breakfast, both buffet with yogurt, toast, cereal and full English cooked breakfast, eggs cooked to perfection. We had dinner out, but useful to have the bar available for a nightcap. We’d stay again.
