Do not stay here!! The carpets are stained. The furniture is stained. The wall paper is peeling. The breakfast is non existent. We arrived at 830 and had no forks. No plates. No milk. No syrup. No gravy. Dry biscuits and dry cereal was all they had. When we asked for more they said they had no more food or silverware or plates. The pool on the website looks nice but it’s actually closed and empty. The view to the pool is hidden behind paper over windows. Tiny square pillows to sleep on. The non- smoking room smells like stale cigarettes. This place is a dump. Don’t stay here!!

While enjoying the New River Gorge National Park, we did one overnight here because it was a good location near the park. Sadly, it was one of the poorest hotels we have ever stayed in. Staff were pleasantenough, but the accomadations were old, musty and run down. Fortunately, our bed and shower were fine, but no pool, no wifi, no onsite restaurant (except for a marginal free breakfast). We learned it was under new ownership, but perhaps it is better to close until all renovations are done. It did not leave us with a good impression and we can not recommen it to others. You have a missed oportunity for those reading reviews unless upgrades are done.

Apparently under new ownership. Maybe wait till you are ready to open or reduce the rates to reflect the property. No elevators, no pool, no wifi. Definitely should let customers know as you shop for a room. You never, ever do well with a cheap hotel. Spend the extra $100 get a place that runs smooth, where you don't have a bathroom light that turns on, sometimes. And you have a curtain that covers your floor level window. Oh well live and learn, steer clear of this hotel.

This hotel felt very unsafe. Dark parking lot. Nooks and crannies and stairwells shadowed. ELEVATOR, pool, hot tub, ice maker, and fitness room were ALL OUT OF ORDER. I did not see any vending machines. The attached restaurant appeared to be (permanently) closed for some time. The 1st floor room request ended up being a basement-level room. The first room assigned to us seemed to have some water damage, only a couple of working lights, and hairs on the towels and sheets. When the jerry-rigged air conditioning unit popped and stopped working shortly after turning it on, a different room was requested. The next room was a few doors down, so still in the basement, and with a flickery-lighted bathroom, like in a horror movie. Hairs on things again. A couple more working lights than the first one. Our view from the room was of a lower-level hotel room across the yard with the front all covered in plastic and with the a.c. unit hanging out and away from the building. Honestly, it had the look of a room that had a previous fire in it. It appeared there were lights on in rooms right around it, though, so obviously guests were placed in and sharing space with this room around them. Just creepy. We were glad for the morning and to be getting out of there. The front-desk staff members were pleasant, and I felt bad for them working in this place with so little good stuff in the hotel to offer guests. It appeared this hotel could have once been a very nice place to stay, but MUCH money and work would NEED to go into restoring this place to make it anything close to that. I have never stayed in this hotel before, and I NEVER INTEND TO AGAIN.

Very disappointed! Property showed its age, with looks and odors. Double bed, No Wi Fi, No ice, No elevator. No pool, etc,etc.As one guest was heard to remark at breakfast " I am not going to eat this " as she threw away a plate of food. Next trip I will stay somewhere else, pay a little more, and get a lLOT more. Website did not accurately represent the hotel.

This hotel was massively overrated. We were informed upon arrival that there was no Wi-Fi, the pool had been drained, the restaurant was closed and 50% of the rooms had no AC, the elevator was broken, and all the vending machines were down. There had also been an issue with their booking system so the friends we were supposed to be staying with had been moved to a different hotel without receiving a call. When we did get into our room, it smelled strongly of mildew/mold and the carpet near the window was wet. Honestly, I wish we would have camped then paid to sleep here.

Kim and Theresa who checked me in have been wonderful! Would definitely recommend staying here over anywhere else. Also great location and free breakfast! Took me only 10’mins to get to the atv ride I had booked, also staff is very knowledgeable on other sites and attractions!

STAFF ARE EXCELLENT! Has been a great hotel in the past. Now many issues. Website needs updating. Stated restaurant, bar, and pool. None. Room clean as it could be, old. Mediocre at best. Staff did defend the new owners but will not stay here again.

The hotel was average, what made it horrible was that I left my purse in my room bec I was going hiking for the day and while i was gone all my cash was stolen. When I reported it to management they said they would conduct an investigation. I had to go back twice to find out what was happening and frankly management was worse than useless!!! I was told the day i was leaving that the housekeeper was let go with a sort of apology and frankly never heard from the general manager and no form of restitution!!! No accountability no nothing. So frankly who knows if they actually did fire the employee or if they even care!!! For a hotel that will probably will be getting a lot more traffic due to New River Gorges new designation this is just bad customer service and bad business!!!
