This is not a campsite that I can recommend for anyone. As a Discovery park, we had some reasonable expectation, when booked, that we were securing an above-average park. Instead, we found there was little shade and we were parking in complete dirt without any pads. We were packed in so tightly together that windows and awnings could not be opened at the same time and the close proximity meant that emptying toilets was done in the view of your neighbour and sadly, sometimes right in their outdoor space. The park information and rules were full of restrictions that everyone seemed to ignore without any consequences. They were explicitly clear on numerous rules that they were not responsible in any way for any loss, damage, injury, or theft that might occur to us during our stay which leads one to wonder why anyone would pay to stay there. During our second night there, we awoke to a great deal of noise and flashlights. A man was standing inside our caravan and it was clear there were others outside. We were screaming, all our lights inside and out were turned on and we had several loud phone calls with the police. While on the phone with the police we could hear a woman screaming at the other end of the park, right next door to the main office/house. The police were very good and thorough and they were actively present over the next few days as the reality of what had happened sunk in. Management made no attempt to check on us, to express their concern, or to even warn the other guests of what had happened. No lights were repaired, no extra security was put in place and no instructions were provided on how to secure caravans against people who were easily able to break in. None of the information that the police provided us after the fact was passed along by management, invaluable information that would undoubtedly save others from ever facing the same kind of horror. NOTHING was done or said. Their literature did mention that we should let them know of any suspicious activity that happened but considering all the disturbances of that night, how obvious the police had been, and the amount of energy and effort management have put into conveying to their guests that they were not responsible in any way for damages, problems, health, or safety of any of us, there seemed little point. A simple visit from anyone from the office to check on us would have gone a long way as the whole experience was extremely traumatic and has been life-altering for me. Further, I feel they had a duty to warn the other people in the park. Theft is one thing. The idea that someone could just open a locked door and were prepared to come in knowing that there are people inside in bed, is another thing completely. These men could have easily grabbed our keys and wallet - and did not which suggests they might have had a different agenda completely. The best of amenities cannot make up for lack of safety or human decency and this park cannot even brag
