霍華德佛羅倫薩民宿 - 時代公寓(Casa Howard Firenze - Residenza d'Epoca)

This old house is just behind the station, a rather dingy neighbourhood. The place was quickly redone on the cheap. The old elevator is usually blocked because someone didn’t close one of the three doors properly. If you reach the reception you will (not) be greeted by the housekeepers. Not a friendly word. When you get to it, you’ll need a key to turn on the electricity in your room! Lucky you don’t need to insert a 2€ coin. Cracked tiles on the floor (yes I know they say its d’ « epocca ». The furniture is tired too. One bedside lamp fell to pieces. It had been reglued, but obviously not very well. All the old stuff in this place must be from some kind of jumble sale. Our bathroom was seriously battered as well. Bring your own Nespresso capsules because here they refill them with cheap coffee. Bring your own bottled water because here they refill them with (allegedly filtered) tap water. This must be to save the planet. Nothing to do with making a fast buck. Bizarrely our bathroom was split in two. A single faucet on one side of a partition, and a bathtub oddly squeezed in another tiny part. I still wonder why we chose to pay the price of a decent hotel to come here. Big mistake, especially given the fact that there are so many nice hotels in town, which is rare in Italy. This place probably impressed when it was one of the first alternative digs in town, but now it seriously disappoints. Run on the cheap to make the most from the undescerning traveller, it is best avoided IMHO

Casa Howard is not a hotel, something you learn soon after entering. It is a guest house. And the staff treat you like welcomed guests the moment you arrive. After a hot but relatively short walk from the chaotic Florence train station, Casa Howard offered some stately calm. There’s no corporate check-in desk here. Instead, put your bags down. Have a seat on the couch. Would you like a drink? Then Antonio, the very helpful concierge was there to explain that our set of keys — actual keys — gave us access to the building and all the common area as well as our room. Since this was an actual house, the rooms are not numbered. Rather, they are named. We stayed in the Library, named for the numerous bookshelves that line the walls from ceiling to floor. My librarian wife now wants to redecorate our bedroom like this. The bathroom is small and heavily mirrored. The shower was nice but dark. A splendid breakfast was delivered to our room, and we ate it sitting at an 18th century desk. This was pricey, more than we would usually spend. But it was our 20th anniversary, it was convenient for a one-night stay in Florence, and the people could not have been nicer. For us on this day, it was worth it.

CH has a unique atmosphere in the heart of Florence. It’s charm, chic, warmth and ever surprising beauty will conquer you forever! Breakfast (in bed!!!!) is unparalleled! The staff is helpful and extremely prepared, always ready to answer your questions and point you in the right direction. Entering a room at CH is like stepping into a fantasy world: dreamlike and splendid! I would recommend it to everyone and anyone!! Bravo CH team and thank you!

Pasé 4 días ensoñados en Casa Howard con mi esposa celebrando nuestra luna de miel. El hotel, un encanto. El nivel de servicio es superlativo y la ubicación, fenomenal. A sólo 3 minutos de la estación de tren principal de Florencia y a 5 minutos del Duomo. A pesar de estar cerca del centro de la ciudad, la calle donde esta ubicada Casa Howard es más bien tranquila. Dormimos tranquilamente las tres noches. Nuestra habitación parecía sacada de un catálogo de diseño interior. Teníamos absolutamente todo lo que quisiéramos y más. Volveríamos en un instante. Gracias a todos en Casa Howard por una estadía de maravilla.

Un esperienza bellissima in un palazzo unico a pochi passi da la stupenda cattedrale di Santa Maria novella. La camera ben arredata, pulita e molto accogliente. Il team del hotel sempre sorridenti e disponibili. Ottima la colazione in camera, torneremo sicuramente.

Lovely room with large bathroom, comfortable bed, delicious breakfast and great location near train station and main city landmarks. Owner and staff are extremely polite and professional. Nothing else to add!
