道奇堡智選假日套房酒店(Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fort Dodge)

This hotel is overpriced for this area of Iowa. I was expecting the hotel to be in good condition because of the price. That was a mistake. This hotel is very run down. I won't stay here again. And, why on earth is it priced so high?

I booked a handicapped accessible room. I get to the hotel and the lady sees me in a wheelchair and said I'm sorry we don't have the room you booked online. So we had to pay double for our stay and had to get a regular room for us and had to get another room on top of that because we all couldn't fit in the room I was put in if we added a cot due to me being in a wheelchair. I went to use the pool lift to get in the pool and the lift didn't work. I asked the front desk if it works and one person said yes I just have to put the battery on. She put the battery on and it didn't work. Then the other front desk person said that they ordered I fuse and it's on back order. Another front desk person said it's been not working for a long time. Can we hold hotels liable if they list their hotel and amenities as wheelchair accessible and handicap accessible if their items are not working and they have no such room available so you don't have to deal with what I had to go through. It was one of the worst experiences. The beds you can feel the springs when you sit and lay down. Not very comfortable at all. The breakfast was cold, the muffins were hard you couldn't bite into them. The closing manager idk if he was scared or what but he had the doors locked before 9pm for guests to walk in. He was really rude and would come in the pool room and slam the door shut.

Our stay at Holiday Inn Express in Fort Dodge was great. It was very clean, beds were comfortable, the pool stayed open until 11 and the rooms had everything you needed. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had 5 stops on this trip and this hotel there and back. The trip back the room was nicer. This hotel had the best continental breakfast. Actually, had eggs. I think hospitality is a lost art. At least on this trip. Definitely no southern hospitality at these northern hotels. They could take some lessons from the Drury Inn in Huntsville AL. I guess that isn't a normal thing anymore. We were just stopping for the night so we didn't use the pool/spa but did on the way there and the hot tub wasn't all that hot.

I always stay in this hotel when I come to my hometown because they have good quality handicap bathrooms. As usual, it was quiet, even though a teen boys baseball team spent Saturday night there. The down side is that the building is aging and in need of a DEEP cleaning and some upgrades. I do not believe that it is necessary to charge every guest with a pet the same $50 pet fee. I have a very well trained chihuahua mix, small dog that I take with me everytime I leave the premises. I still had to pay the $50 even though she never barked once or caused any damage whatsoever. When one is a repeat guest with the same pet, I think some allowance should be made. In addition, I take my own poop bags and clean up after my pet every time. That should be taken into account.

Like: like the quick response when we couldn't get the TV to work. Someone was at our door within minutes. She was a very friendly lady. Saw her again before we left and she took the time to ask how did the TV work after she left and struck up conversation about our trip. Not many do that anymore. Dislikes: hot tub was not hot. Wallpaper in bathroom was pulling off.

Very nice, clean, quiet. Bed good for me, to firm for my wife. Good breakfast, cinnamon rolls were great! Pool was open only 1 night of the 4 we were there. Hot tube was open and great.

We were so disappointed at the limited hours of the concierge lounge. We ensured we had access as part of our reservation, but it closed before we arrived and didn't open until after we had to check out for our flight. We had to pay $5 each for a half cup of coffee in the lobby on our way out :(
