Apesar de ter a reserva confirmada e já a caminho do alojamento, recebemos um telefonema a informar que a reserva não podia ser concretizada conforme a confirmação enviada. Ser-nos-ia atribuído, no entanto, um outro quarto. Após verificarmos as suas características e não nos agradando desistimos da reserva. O valor do depósito foi devolvido. A experiência, que aguardávamos com alguma expectativa, saiu gorada. E isto tudo na véspera do fim de ano!

Uma quinta adorável onde a história, se funde com a natureza e com a atenção pela natureza... Adorei conhecer os animais e as paisagens. E tirei mil e uma fotografias! Não é fácil acordar com os pavões porque são muito muitos e dinâmicos, e adoram cantarolar (:)

Absolutely gorgeous Quinta and exceptionally friendly, delightful, and informative host. House dates to the 1500s; room was large, atmospheric and very comfortable. Francisco welcomed us, gave us a tour of the property and the house (including the old chapel) which seem more like a museum than an inn. Small balcony in our room gave us a good view of the lovely grounds. Breakfast was excellent and there are good restaurants within walking distance. A great place to stay if your visiting the Silver Coast - just a short drive to Nazare and even shorter to Obidos. The hospitality of the host, Francisco, made us feel completely at home. Couldn't recommend more strongly. 5/5!

A beautiful setting, charming and helpful hosts. Fabulous attention to detail and wonderful local food for breakfast . A unique building full of family history. The rooms are spacious and comfortable opening onto a shaded courtyard Would return without hesitation

We wanted to get off the beaten path during our week trip to Portugal and decided to stay here. We were pleasantly surprised by our overnight stay. There is so much history, the property was built in the 16th century and has been with the same family the entire time. We enjoyed a drink down by the lagoon and then a surprisingly nice dinner at Cafe Central. Our room was separate from the main house accommodations so we had a bit more space and got to have a wonderful fire in the fireplace. Oh, and sheep and goats behind us that we could see from our patio :)

Within the heart of the village Foz Do Arelho, is the Quinta Da Foz, which sits as an oasis in the busy environs of the nearby Lagoon (Lagoa De Obidos) and beaches of Foz Do Arelho. This historic building has stood solidly for nearly 5 centuries and now provides 4 bedrooms (and some private houses), fully modernised yet wholly sensitive to the magnificent architectural history of the building, and the purpose it has served for many years with the same family throughout. For breakfast, we received a basket full of food. To be eaten in your room or in the courtyard directly outside your room under a cooling canopy of trees, with a peacock for company. The basket contained yoghurt, the Quinta's lemon grass tea, bread, pastries, meat, cheese, yoghurt, nuts, fruit, fresh orange and more. Rarely has breakfast been such an occasion. Which sets you up for the day. The bathroom is spacious and fresh with a sunken terracotta bath and shower. If you are interested, Francisco, the current guardian of the property, will proudly speak about the Quinta's colourful and fascinating history, which sits visibly all around you. Francisco kindly allowed me to walk in the adjacent gardens accessed through the working stables. A short walk revealed heron, a scent of lemon balm, geese and chickens and a placid donkey. Great for kids and adults alike. I feel compelled to shout loudly about this unique experience. We have stayed in so many hotels, in many countries but I cannot say that I have had such a rounded experience as this. The welcome; beautiful room; the food; the peace during a bustling summer; and the delight of seeing a side of Foz Do Arelho which still has a pulse in this modern age - made this stay breathtaking.

Our visit was a great memorable 'experience' from start to finish. This hotel is situated in a large Manor House which has been in the family for generations. The family have been allowing visitors to share the joy of this place for the last four years. We were met at the gates initially by a Great Dane and then a lady who showed us in, around parts of the beautiful building and then our room. This was a beautiful large ground floor room with a large bathroom, good shower and towels. They grow their own tea on the farm and samples were left in the room which was delicious. There are peacocks in the grounds which were loud but added to the ambiance of the place. Breakfast was at 9am, upstairs on a large table with the four other guests. On the first morning we were a little confused as to what we were having as there was not really any discussion. Once we had got to know the very friendly owner and staff we did ask some questions the following morning. You were served home cooked food and lovely fresh bread. Following that the owner gives you tour of the top floor of the house and some information concerning the history of the house and his family. Very enjoyable stay, lovely people.

We stayed at Quinta de Foz in the end of May. Francisco received us with all hospitality and attention you can only imagine. The place is marvelous, the large yard with peacocks walking around and showing off, the main house with more than 200 years of the history and the beautiful capela. Foz, a brown dog, greets you at the entrance. The breakfast was delicious with the selection of the local cheeses and cakes, natural yogurts. The local restaurants, which Francisco suggested to try, offer the local dishes such as bacalhao a bras. The nearby beach is a real attraction.

Amazing estate, very clean, breakfast was excellent and home made, big and comfortable rooms, incredible atmosphere. Location 20 min from Obidos. Francisco and his wife are lovely hosts and made us feel very welcomed, we enjoyed the tour of the house and farm.

An absolute gem of a place. The place is rich in history, the owner extremely welcoming and the residence/room museum quality. We could not have been happier with our stay. The breakfast experience was truly outstanding. This is a very special place. Thank you so very much for the memories.
