We took this as a 2 day getaway, expecting it to be top notch... especially given the price of $480/night PLUS $120 each to get there by water taxi. We stayed in Endeavour unit 18. Unfortunately, for the price, it fell well below expectations. No kitchenette as advertised, no TV, the 'King size bed' turns out to be 2 single beds of different elevations pushed together, with a 'step' between them. There IS a spa pool, but contains more filth than water - it was truly disgusting. In The restaurant we ordered an expensive meal but quickly found the Cray fish was far from fresh and the lamb rack was more sheep ribs than Lamb(!) We ate it, just because of where we are and it wasn't inedible, but for a meal that cost over $300 with wine it was a long way from what we would expect elsewhere at even close to the same price point.... and before we had even finished our meal, at just 8pm having sat down at 7pm, we were told the place was closing and could we please finish in our room. Although we had already paid for the 2 nights, we left after just 1, with no refund for the unused night - truthfully I didn't push the issue, I just wanted to get home. Will never return.

Headed out for the day, enjoyed lunch at Furneaux Lodge. Such a delicious meal & great views. The vibe of this place is so relaxing & well worth the venture out there. Definitely will be back to soak the atmosphere up again. Very lucky to have this on our door step!

My husband, son & I had a lovely few days here. They were kind enough to upgrade my son from a bunkhouse to a room right next to ours. I think we were in the Tobias suite which was lovely. The food was always good & the waiters so friendly & helpful. We always tried to sit outside on the deck to eat as soon as much nicer than inside. Thank you again for the upgrade- it made our holiday!

Prachtig gelegen lodge waarin zich het restaurant bevindt. De verblijven zijn in losse gebouwen. Wij hadden een cooks cottage,met mogelijkheid om zelf te koken als je de kosten wilt drukken. Goede bedden en voorzieningen. Prima wifi op hele terrein Gratis gebruik gemaakt van kayak,ook sup's aanwezig. Super vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Restaurant had mooie gerechten en veel glutenvrije opties. Bediening kent coeliakie en bijbehorende restricties voor bereiding voedsel. Dat maakte dat ik er met een veilg gevoel heb gegeten en niet ziek ben geworden. De lodge ligt aan de Queen Charlotte track, dat maakt het extra aantrekkelijk om hier te verblijven.

Onze favoriet van de rondreis. Het even werk om er te komen, ook als je de ferry neemt in plaats van de wandeling, maar dat draagt alleen maar bij aan de ervaring. Wij kregen een fijne upgrade en hadden een huisje voor ons zelf. Wij arriveerden op een dag met stralende zon en alles was prachtig. In de avond hier gegeten en dat was prima (het resto staat niet los op TA?). De volgende ochtend moesten we helaas al weer weg, maar toen was alles bewolkt en regenachtig. Geeft heel andere sfeer en uitstraling maar dat draagt bij aan de lodge-setting. Wij waren niet zo blij met de dame achter de balie bij de ferry op weg er naar toe, maar da's een heel ander verhaal.

Our visit was part of our plush tramp from Ship's Cove to Punga Cove on December 28. After being dropped off at the trailhead, our water taxi brought our bags to Furneaux where they were waiting for us in our cottage. After an amazing day hiking, it was a pleasure to arrive and have a nice glass of wine on the lodge deck. The cottage was terrific and well appointed. The restaurant for dinner and breakfast was also good. The staff were terrific. We would have loved to stay a second night. As it was, the lodge organized our bags to be taken by water taxi to Punga Cove lodge. It's a great way to tramp without the heavy pack.

Wij hebben 1 overnachting gehad in de double suite. Fantastisch mooie locatie na een eerste dag lopen van de Queen Charlotte track. Hottub aanwezig. Het restaurant was zeer goed, heerlijk diner en ontbijt genuttigd. Een oase van rust na een vermoeiende wandeling.

I stayed here on my first two nights on the queen charlotte walk. I unfortunately had the accessible room which is right near reception so a bit noisy at times as there is a lot of action on the other side of the fence. Really lovely room and the hotel itself is very lovely. Friendly staff encouraged use the of the hot tub but it was empty the entire stay. I had Xmas lunch which was very good but I think too expensive at $120 with no drinks…..but it is a bit remote. The meals in the dining room were great - I had two breakfasts and dinner and it was lovely. The thing that really let it down was the walker lunch - a complete rip off at $29 which was an apple and a soggy awful sandwich and cheap cheese and biscuits. I do not recommend the walkers lunch at aLl. The lodge itself though is lovely.

Arrived with family and friends. Staff not friendly almost arrogant. Unable to look at lunch menu as we didn't have a resavation. No bar meals only chips and wedges. Tables reserved but know one sitting at them. We are off to Punga to spend our money...

We have just stayed at this magical place for two nights having hiked in. We came to Furneaux lodge to enjoy this unique location. September is wonderful as the kowhai were flowering and the bellbirds were enjoying drinking from the abundant flowers. Furneaux lodge is a special place in the historical context and this will resonate with many kiwis. The position of the homestead is stunning placed on a flat clearing fronting the pristine sound. Paddle boards and kayaks and life jackets are there for you to enjoy as you wish. This place was like home from home. The lovely receptionist stayed later just to welcome us which was very much appreciated. Our two bedroom cottage was well designed with a double bedroom on either side of the living space. Sitting at a nice angle to the sound- the view was beautiful from the cottage. Drying room is excellent. A highlight was the bar and restaurant and the attentive, charming staff. We felt the food- breakfast, lunch and dinner- was very good indeed. Selection of wines excellent. Our stay served as a wonderful escape where we felt well cared for. Walking from the hot tub across the lawn and hearing the unmistakeable roar of the All Blacks delivering a feisty haka was delectable in this thoroughly New Zealand place. We’ll be back for New Year.

Perfect place to spend a night - especially after a long walk from Ships Cove - Furneaux Lodge has all the facilities you need and even better views from the rooms and restaurant. The Chef works his magic at dinner time and breakfast you will not go hungry

Great food , great location, great rooms , great staff . Marked down by one star because you have invasive weeds in your gardens that could jump into the local bush !

Excellent dinner - all 3 courses - excellent breakfast and coffee. Friendly staff. Very accomodating allowing me to put charge in my Bluetti battery. Moorings close to the jetty are 25 a night - that’s amazing compared to 100 a night at marinas in the area.

Wow what a location. Loved staying here so much, an amazing experience. The views, the staff and accommodation were all 10/10. So relaxing from the minute of arrival, swing in the hammocks, wade in the crystal clear water or hop in the hot tub. Just a dream stay overall
