Accueil très sympa, le design de l'hôtel est très étrange, sans ascenseur. Des salons partout, idéal pour déguster un verre, avant de passer à table. Loin de tout, aucun risque d'avoir du bruit la nuit, parking à disposition gratuitement. Attention, pas de wifi (mais c'est joliment expliqué pourquoi) Egalement un excellent restaurant (où il faut mieux réserver et attention, rien d'autre aux alentours), avec un menu copieux, où tout était très bon, avec des produits frais et service sympa.

J'ai mis une étoile pour le dîner très bon mais normal vu le tarif quant à la chambre.... 315pounds pour ce qui était une chambre du personnel sur l'arrière au dessus des cuisines ... Donc odeurs dès 17 h quand vous ouvrez la fenêtre, fêlée et en mauvais état Salle de bain toute petite avec un robinet non fixé au lavabo. Un lit pas très large, fallait le faire rentrer dans la chambre... L'accueil nul, on nous donne le clé puis débrouillez vous, je m'attendais à un autre service pour un 4 étoiles mais non étions dans une chambre de gueux

ce n'est pas un bon hôtel la chambre a l'air fatiguée mauvaise odeur la nourriture est correcte ça ne vaut pas de l'argent

If you want an old fashioned, classy, welcoming hotel, then this is the place for you. The rooms are nicely furnished with unique features. The food was excellent in the Resturant with a well stocked bar. Comfortable lounge areas allow privacy and a quiet place to be. Extensive lawns reach down to the waters edge. A comfortable welcoming lodge that I would recommend.

Very nice hotel on a superb location. Staff is very nice and helpful. Only 2 point for improvement: a) invest in a decent coffee machine (no capuccino) b) first come first served in the restaurant is a far better system than what is happening now. At dinner and breakfast the same couple was at the window table (the best view over the bay).

Oh dear. This could be such a great place, but they have completely shot themselves in the foot, by charging high end hotel prices and not training their staff accordingly. For the service one receives the charges should be under £200 not over £320 per night. Room was comfortable but cramped (lots of furniture) and had some noise insulation issues from other rooms (Room 9). Food in restaurant was excellent at dinner was good but total chaos on the night we were there. Neither of the staff really knew what they were doing and clearly a problem in the kitchen. Food took over an hour to arrive and table next to us got wrong food (possibly ours). As a result atmosphere in dining room was very tense and a lot of diners were getting a bit shirty - not helped by having had at least an hour to drink, but not eat. Young and willing staff completely out of their depth and instead of covering calmly and professionally they rushed about panicking like headless chickens. Breakfast on the other hand was good and managed smoothly by the hotel manager. Our stay started badly by being intially ignored by staff who had clearly seen us from the dining room when we arrived in reception and then the young man wandering along the corridor after my husband went into the dining room to engage with him. He slumped down in the reception chair chewing gum (what can I say??!!!), leaving us standing. He appeared not very well informed about the dining arrangements and gave us long confusing details about the wine arrangements and watched from his chair as my husband struggled in with the luggage. Odd arrangement of rooms downstairs to accommodate a whisky bar which is set up like a cafe - no comfortable sofas etc and large billiard room taking up quite a lot of the limited reception room space. The falconry session was brilliant - definitely worth making a special trip for and gather from other guests that tea was also good. Lisa the manager was helpful and friendly and responded appropriately to our complaint regarding the dinner by not charging us for same. What a shame as this hotel is in a beautiful position and could be seriously good with some proper staff training and thoughtful rearrangement of furniture. A wasted opportunity by the owners.

While this 4-star hotel itself is lovely and well situated on the water (but also sort of in the middle of nowhere) the room prices are exorbitant. Our « cosy room » overlooking the garden and some sort of shed was more expensive than most rooms we’ve stayed in at acclaimed 5-star hotels around the world. No word of a lie! And breakfast was NOT included in that price. The reception clerk told us there were still larger rooms available. Obviously at a premium! So many vacancies on a Friday night during high season! No kidding. Who would pay those prices? I also sent an email to the reservation desk six days ago to discuss rebooking directly and no one even responded. The clerk told us they were « busy ». He did comp us breakfast. Overall very disappointing stay.
