I have tried over the years to stay here, almost only because of Accor brand loyalty. The hotel building is much older than every other building around GIFT City, and the rooms are inexplicably smaller than most other hotels - even the junior suites only have queen beds. The restaurant offers a decent but small selection of food for à la carte and buffet for lunch and dinner; but is comparatively overpriced. While I tend to dine in the restaurant when I am alone, I would go elsewhere in Gandhinagar if I am entertaining anyone. What has always been aggravating about this hotel every time I stay is that more than one thing always goes wrong. This time, it was the same. For a 9 night stay, on the first night the room had NO RUNNING WATER and despite calling reception and promised someone would come to check and fix, no one did. Water returned after an hour or so (though initially the water was very dirty). On the 3rd night, the TV was unable to connect - when I called reception to ask if it was a hotel-wide problem, I was told it was not and that an engineer would come; the engineer did come but just to tell me it was a hotel wide problem. In the past, when things go wrong, at least they would acknowledge and apologise. This time, it feels like the hotel is taking its guests for granted in not notifying and now not apologising for building and technical faults; justifying the cost for what the hotel is now is becoming a difficult task.
