半島酒店(Peninsular)

An unexpected short break in early August to meet family over from Oz - we needed accommodation that was reasonably priced and to be able to get to Barcelona. Happenchance meant I booked here. Staff were fantastic (even accepting my broken Spanish though they all had excellent English). Room was comfortable, clean and quiet although central in modern part of city. Conveniently a bakery and good Tapas bar directly opposite main entrance. Market 5 minutes walk one way, Placa Independencia about the same distance the other, whilst the railway and bus stations were less than 10minutes (direct trains to Barcelona - use MD not AVE trains as vastly cheaper; whilst regular bus to airport for less then 3 euros). We'll certainly use this hotel again as a base for exploring the surrounding area as the transport links are so efficient.

O hotel está muito perto do centro Histórico de Girona, é perfeito para dar um passeio turístico. O meu quarto era muito cómodo, com uma cama grande (na verdade, duas camas juntas, apesar de ser um quarto individual), televisão, casa de banho limpa e confortável... O pequeno almoço é suficiente, sem ser espetacular: há muitas opções doces e algumas salgadas (ovos mexidos e bacon, queijo, enchidos), café, sumo... Destacar ainda a amabilidade extrema do pessoal do hotel, sempre bem disposto e com um sorriso para facilitar a vida dos hóspedes.

Very central location for girona near to shops and restaurants and bus/train station Free fast WiFi available Very clean hotel and very secure with back and front entrances to hotel Rooms are spacious and clean however it was disappointing that there was no coffee/tea making facilities in our room:( The room was extremely hot for late November and the windows did not overlook the city but rather an unsightly gap between rooms and the air came in from above but it means there was not much air circulation from this. I did get a fan which worked well to cool the room down as the air conditioning also did not work either as it was set to hot for this time of year but when it was on neither cold or hot air came from it We did have a safe where you pay €5 deposit for key and you get it back again when checked out We paid for breakfast in the hotel one of the days which was €12. It was quite a lot for a small selection of buffet food but the food was nice and the waitress was friendly and helpful The bar also closes at 8pm Saturday and is fully closed Sundays and Mondays so we never got to visit it The beds in the room are very comfortable and the hotel is also very quiet so had a very nice sleep The main thing I would like to point out is that the staff are a credit to the hotel and are very professional and friendly people.

A very friendly welcome from Andrea with informative assistance. Parking is close and well discounted if using hotel instructions. Clean and well stocked room although paid for superior room. Tea and coffee facilities provided. Double bed was two singles together which provided some hilarity when I fell between the beds when cuddling my partner. Bar/snack facilities close at 18:30 but plenty of food and drink options close by. The tapas bar across the road is worth a visit.

El hotel está muy bien ubicado, muy cerca del centro, pero el precio es excesivo para lo que ofrece (a pesar de reservar con varios meses de antelación). El buffet del desayuno es algo limitado y algunos de los productos no están muy buenos (huevos, tortilla...). El primer día había solo una persona atendiendo y de bastantes malos modos (probablemente por el agobio de estar sola atendiendo a todos los clientes). Las habitaciones están bien, se encuentran limpias y las camas son cómodas, pero las que dan a la avenida son bastante ruidosas, ya que la ventana no aisla bien (entra tanto ruido como corriente) y enfrente del hotel hay bares que cierran a medianoche. Otro detalle feo para un hotel de este precio es que no llaman ellos a un taxi para los clientes, simplemente te dan un papel para que llames tú mismo. Si arreglaran estos detalles, la calidad-precio del hotel sería mejor.

Hotel limpio,habitación amplia. Personal super atento y servicial. El desayuno correcto. La ubicación estupenda, cerca de todo. La zona tranquila. Por poner un pero!! Faltaría un enchufe en la mesilla de noche.

Un hôtel charmant et bien situé. La literie est d'un confort exceptionnel. Le réceptionniste très accueillant et de bons conseils. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Je recommande cet établissement. Propreté impeccable et facilité pour garer sa voiture.

Se presenta como un hotel renovado y se nota en las zonas comunes pero el esmero renovador no es el mismo en las habitaciones, como un grifo que gotea, cortina de ducha en lugar de cristal, aislamiento de ventanas deficiente. Una sola persona atendiendo el desayuno para más de 30 clientes no es ideal. Todo ello no se refleja en el precio, que destaca la centralidad del hotel, muy bien conectado.

Hotel con muy buena ubicación cerca del casco y con bares y restaurantes cerca. Limpieza y atención correcta. Sin embargo la insonorización de la habitación insuficiente porque se oyen todos los ruidos de la calle y también de otras habitaciones.
