Nice and clean hotel. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.

This was a great place to stay. Good price, and very friendly staff. Lovely and clean - everything was tidy and comfortable. If anyhting it would be great if the staff knew abit more about the local area - things to do and whats happening in the area.

I stay at least once a month for work and always have to book months in advance. Great central location. Only gripe is paper thin walls. You can hear everything - plumbing especially so. Dated but clean rooms vary in configuration but all have microwave, fridge, basic crockery, iron and decent hairdryer!

This motel has the most beautiful outlook and is quiet and peaceful. A very spacious room with all the usual facilities. Kitchen was well stocked with crockery, cutlery etc. and a decent-sized fridge plus microwave and electric fry pan. Easy walking distance from excellent eating and shopping opportunities. Will certainly be back!

A lovely spacious room in a very convenient location for the town, riverside walks with monuments to Captain Cook and his cabin boy, museum and beaches. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Although breakfast wasn’t included you could order a continental breakfast the day before which was delivered that evening to eat at your leisure the following morning.

Well appointed, clean room in a fantastic location. The bed was super comfortable and I have a fussy back so I was very impressed and slept well. My only niggle was the wifi. It was quite laggy so I ended up not using it. Otherwise I had a great stay and would definitely recommend this property.

Right on the inlet to the harbour, quiet location. Room was nice, clean and spacious. Check in was quick and easy along with checkout. We were only in town for one night but I recommend this accomodation highly.

Amazing, clean, comfortable. We visited for 2 nights with our tour group. Lovely outlook, great areas around for walking. Quiet, large rooms. Had everything you needed. Anything you asked for staff were most obliging. Would definitely recommend.

With a couple of minor quirks, we found this Motor Inn comfortable and convenient. The room design is cool and airy, which is necessary as Gisborne gets very hot, it was 28 Celcius when we visited but it was barely necessary to use the air conditioning in the room. It was spacious, and our 1 bedroom studio had a large bathroom suitable for disabled persons. The shower pressure was very strong and if the shower tap was fully opened the rose would fly off around the bathroom! WiFi performance was marginal, and the fridge doesn't really fit into the kitchen properly. But these were minor issues. It is in a handy location to shops and to the beach. Highly recommended by us.

Arrived in Gisborne this afternoon and it was a very warm 30° day. We checked in which was efficient and came to our room. A bit dated and smelt a little funky. My husband spent aaaages trying to get the heat pump to work while I got ready to head out with our friends, who were also staying here, in total as a group we booked about 8 rooms. As we were heading out I went to reception and informed the receptionist that our heat pump in Unit 1 wasn't working.... she sighed and said "It is working, how many times have you pushed the buttons? Have you turned it off and back on again and left it?" I told her we have turned it off and on but it isn't doing anything except flashing lights, I felt so bad like we had done something wrong... she then went and got her remote and came over. By then a few of our friends (one of which is an electrician) were in the room. The receptionist went out the back and turned the unit off and on at this stage I had left as I was quite upset at how abrupt she was. She then said to my hubby and friends that the unit was new and they have had nothing but issues with it (or words to that affect). Seriously it is the middle of summer and other people have had issues then there is an issue!!! She got it going! The boys came and met us for dinner and we had a nice evening... BUT when we came back the aircon wasn't working and buggered if we could get it going for more than a minute before it turned off. We are now laying here in the hottest room, it is 10pm and over 20° and it is sweltering! I am so disappointed and upset, we have paid good $ for a room and all we want to do is go home because it is so hot. All our friends have aircon and ceiling fans and are happy, we are just disappointed. This is my 1st time in Gisborne and I feel like it has been ruined.
