加巴中央公寓飯店(Gabba Central Apartments)

Fantastic location and surrounded by plenty of restaurants, bars (great bar by the way - excellent staff) and conveniences. The reception staff were helpful and very welcoming. The room was "cosy" (ie: smaller than I expected but I could work with that) and had a musty smell and needed airing. It took a while to figure out the aircon and once turned on the smell seemed to dissipate. Two beds had obviously been pushed together to make a king-size bed and I could feel the join of the mattresses on my spine when I lay down. I decided to sleep on one side which was quite lumpy and fortunately the other side was way more comfortable. The toilet was right behind the door and the shower was tight - but that being said both were functional and the free toiletries were lovely to use. My overall feedback is you can't change the layout of this crazy place but you can downsize the bed to suit the room, clean out the air filters in the aircon, and clean the toilet properly (there are ways of making the entire toilet bowl white), and still charge it at the current rate. Other than that the staff and location truly are what makes this hotel stand out.

Proximity to the Gabba, shops and transport is great. Property itself is showing its age, and the apartment that we stayed in was in clear need of a thorough clean, particularly the kitchen and bathroom areas. The bathroom and shower area should be completely renovated.

They take a $100 deposit from you on arrival then a second $100 the next day and then over a week after we have left the property they finally release your deposit.

The location of the propery was good and the apartment was large, however the property was not maintained properly. Bathroom privacy locks, shower and the room fan was not working. Carpet was smelling bad around the apartments. Location was great, as it is close to freeway, getting in and out to gold coast and sunshine-coast is easy.

Whilst the Hotel was conveniently located for us in attending the Gabba. I would describe the hotel as 2 star at best. The rooms are very basic and need of refurbishment. Take the shower facilities for example, both showers in the 2 apartments had missing soap holder trays that i would expect were originally glass. The lift would be the slowest in Australia.

Pretty annoyed paying $300 and we had hardly any hot water for showers (could only have 1 shower before it went luke warm), the heated pool was cold and tap fittings were broken. They offered us a $50 reimbursement which I feel is quite poor.

The upgraded fob system didn’t work, what does it matter what the place is like if you can’t even access it.

We booked as we were going to the cricket and it’s directly across the road. The location is handy for a short stroll to Southbank. The room was comfortable and spacious for a family of 4.
