Beautiful location, views and landscaping, but the actual hotel needs a lot of work. -Tired and dated building - Limited housekeeping - we walked into our room and the windows were covered with cobwebs. The second day we were in, we saw the empty toilet paper roll in our room had just been left there and not replaced. During dinner - a glass was brought over with a lipstick stain on it. - Inexperienced, slow service - we were told dinner reservations were nearly full - though there was barely anyone in either dining room. When some we spilled a bit of wine on the table, our server wiped up the wine, and then folded the napkin and put in back on our friend’s lap! When we tried to order cocktails in the bar, both times, neither server knew what the drinks were - with one even disappearing and not coming back after saying “I’ll see what I can do.” When we asked the front desk about getting some sandwiches pre-made for the next day, she sighed and said “I don’t deal with that, speak to the restaurant.” While many of the staff seemed very nice - it didn’t seem like there had been any training at all - overall - slow, underwhelming service. The atmosphere also needs some work - no music or welcoming atmosphere to make you want to stay and enjoy dinner or drinks. Given we each spent nearly £1000 on the stay for two nights (accommodation and food/drinks) - we’d expect a much higher quality stay.
