Booked this as a 2 night stay but contacted the hotel 4 weeks before to add another night. This was no issue and payment was due on arrival. We arrived and the bar member knew our names and that we were checking in. Fantastic breakfast. Cooked to order and can pick and choose items if wanted. The food in the evenings was also fantastic. We ate 2 nights and had different items and were not disappointed at all. Bookings not taken for evenings but staff reserved the best table in the bar for us both nights which was a lovely touch. Very happy with the room with a beautiful mountain view for us and our dog. We were looked after from the moment we arrived until we left. We will be back next year after the shut down over the winter. Can't wait to go back.

A lovely cosy friendly place , dog friendly , food fantastic, a wonderful place to wind down and watch the world go by or close enough to visit a ton of places nearby . Views stunning , we have been here a few times and always a great experience.

A great location, good staff, great pub food, and breakfasts. However, the premises are Very tired. The Inn has recently been purchased and under new management. Apparently, the plan is for refurbishment later in the year, and is well over due. Our bed and linen was new and clean, as were the rooms, but carpets and paintwork is borderline shocking due to neglect from previous owners. Summary: cheaper than many in this area, a wonderful location with good food and a good chef. Pity about the neglect of the premises.

A truly amazing oldie worldie pub absolutely amazing great rooms, great staff and a great location looking over Ullswater set in the countryside on a hill and has its own brewery, watching the steamers pass the bedroom was cosy, clean and neat the food was great and value for money! Good central place to travel around to Pentrith, Keswick etc

We stayed for one night. Perfect location for hikers and dog walkers and it seemed quite popular throughout the day. Staff were friendly. Our room was small but clean. Bathroom was tiny. Main course at dinner was lovely but we never got to experience dessert which was disappointing. Breakfast was also tasty and food was served quickly. I'd prefer an earlier check in than 4pm and a later checkout than 10am

Really enjoyable two night stay. Very impressed with our room, very clean and fresh. Amazing comfy beds and bedding. Food for breakfast and dinner was fantastic. The best thing was the view from our room looking over Ullswater Lake - stunning. Be aware that the Inn is also a pub and we could hear music until around 10.30pm. We also found that the water pressure from the shower was low but all in all, a wonderful place that we would 100% stay at again.

I found this available at the last minute due to horrendous rain. we decided to have a night stay here. Good food, great views if you stay in rooms over looking the lake, back rooms over look a field full of sheep, poor signal for phones & TV wasn't great either. So lay watching the sheep all night Rooms a bit smelly and could do with updating. I felt like I was in my nannas' back room, worn-out carpet old tatty furniture,the bathroom was huge, and needs taps sorted out. Loose floor boards in rooms which kept us awake most of the night when people walking back & forth we could here when other rooms where on toilet, flushing the chain and pipe going when they used water very annoying when you get disturbed sleep. The bed... well, double bed with a super king duvet extra thick, and the spring just popped and made a noise every time you moved very uncomfortable and both woke up with a stiff muscles Couldn't fault the food, the breakfast was very good Would I stay here again ? Yes! If the rooms were updated and more comfortable for price you pay

We stayed for one night and for the price was a little disappointed at how tired the place looked. Everything seems well in need of some tlc, however the food made up for it, the steak and ale pie with their own brewed ale was the most delicious pie I’ve ever eaten and I half hoped to be served it again for breakfast. Plus the views are stunning if you’re lucky enough like us to get a lake view room and it was the perfect place to start and end the Ullswater Way walk x

The Inn is set in an excellent location overlooking the fabulous Ullswater Lake I had room no 2 with a breath-taking view of the lake .. it was very comfortable ,serviced daily and very clean ! The management and staff were entertaining , caring and efficient also the breakfasts and bar meals were excellent . particular mention must be made for the barman ..Jeff with his total commitment to Northern Soul and the decidedly dodgy , floating key , renditions !
