What a fantastic place The Travellers Rest is! Brilliant location both for ‘getting there’ and fore getting about on the hills. Lovely staff all very welcoming, great service, drinks selection and food. Lovely room with Mountain View’s and we were allowed to take our dog too. We’ll definitely be back!

It's a very lovely place in the midst of the Lake District with hiking trails and Grasmere (20min) very close by. The building is quite old and very charming and the room was cozy. The didn't dine here, but the pints wear tasteful. Breakfast was good, but some could have been more fresh.

Had a lovely stay room was clean bed was a bit to hard for me and we kept knocking are knees on the sides of the beds could do with something on the corners food was lovely location was picturesque but we did get quite a bit of traffic as it was on a main road

What a wonderful couple of days myself, my wife and our beagle have just had at the Travellers Rest. Nothing is too much trouble. All the staff were so friendly and happy to help.
The food is excellent and I would highly recommend calling in even if its just to have a drink in comfortable surroundings with spectacular views. Thank you

It is small enough where staff make you feel welcome. Lots of character. Some great walks nearby although a bit of a walk to centre of village.

The staff are excellent. The food is superb well cooked and presented. Just far enough out of the towns to be a nice quiet country retreat.
