Unfriendly staff, food served on cold plates. We all thought it was expensive for the quality and presentation. Coffee served in chipped cups, only filter available. Had to return ours as it looked like mud, even after adding milk. Men’s toilet only had cold water, will not be returning.

Fabulous pub , in a great location . Secure Carpark was a bonus as we were on our way to the Eurotunnel on a motorcycle. Staff were really helpful and accommodating for our needs. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and really quick. This was a brilliant place to stay

Quaint character pub with warm welcome upon arrival. Clean bedroom . Lovely pub garden. We had an excellent meal from an expansive menu. Friendly staff.

Brian and his staff are so good at what they do . There when you need them in friendly and knowledgeable way. Food both in the evening and the morning was excellent. Would highly recommend not only staying but also just enjoying the food and drinks.

What a beautiful place I cannot recommend highly enough. Cant wait to return and introduce my friends. Great atmosphere and lovely staff. We were served by Sue who told us lots of information about the pub. We didn’t stay just had a drink but would definitely love to.

Went for a birthday meal food was lovely. Everything tasted fresh and was served nicely. Full of dickens pictures on walls. Landlady was very friendly and not intrusive to us at all. We hadn't been before and went on a recommendation of a friend. Will return for a Sunday lunch

Really lovely vegan sharing platter today. Great selection of foods, unusual things too like artichokes, figs, olives, hummus, pitta, salad, sun-dried tomatoes and aubergine. Lovely garden made all the better with the good weather today, will definitely be back

The pub is a lovely period building with a nice welcoming atmosphere. We had an absolutely lovely meal and the food was of a fantastic standard and very nice indeed. Given the overall quality the prices are also quite reasonable. The staff were very friendly and polite and we would definitely look to come back again. Highly recommended.

Came in a Saturday with my partner and Mother. I last came to this pub over 30 years ago and it hasn't changed a great deal. Staff were friendly and attentive, and food was tasty - if not a bit slow but we were in no rush. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience. Beautiful pub.

Ate here and it was horrendous. Garlic and cream mushroom starter had no garlic in it. The vegetable curry was basically boiled veg on top of rice with lettuce on the side. There was what looked like vegetable stock at the bottom of the bowl. Sent it back and the scampi and chips took so long, my friend had almost completely finished. Not a penny off the meal.

3 couples- Sunday lunch…..welcome was warm, food was outstanding, service from Scott and co was fabulous and the mixologist cocktails Scott prepared were gorgeous!! In honesty we weren’t expecting much - it far surpassed all our expectations and we will definitely be using the Bottle much more! Gluten-free menu was wonderful and extensive!! Thank you for a perfect afternoon!

I visited the Leather Bottle pub for Sunday lunch with my group of 18 hikers. Everybody was very impressed with the pub. Our lunches were pre-ordered and were served on the day very efficiently and professionally by the friendly staff. The pub is full of charm and historical interest. The quality of the food was amazing. I would highly recommend. Phil Smyth

We visited the pub Resturant on Sunday I had the Sunday roast.my partner had the salmon salad. I must say the food was excellent and the service was great. We go here quite often great pub Resturant great staff. Also you could visit the church opposite St Mary Magdalene. This is a very old church well worth a visit.

Four of my family were visiting from the US, and I decided to take them for lunch at the Leather Bottle. First off, the staff : Each and everyone of them were very professional, and knew what a certain dish contained. They were very helpful, without being overbearing. The Food : When I read the menu, i thought “ this is not like it used to be”. Every dish, and I mean every dish sounded delicious, but yes, what did it taste like ? All of us chose different appetisers, different main course, and deserts. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 , 5 being the highest, I would have no problem in giving a 5 rating. Prices : Well, we all know that prices have risen over the past few months, but the prices today , albeit not “ cheap” were set at a level that justified the quality of the food. All in all, our party had a really good experience at the Leather Bottle, and will definitely be returning.
