Cold shower and spiders down the side of the bed!
We visit Canberra often and staying at Manuka Park Apartments was one of the most disappointing.
The check-in staff member was lovely and we appreciated the parking, but I cannot say the same about our accommodation - the apartment lacked attention and maintenance.
First, the toilet would only flush every 5 mins or so (even after someone at reception came to fix it), the hot water cut out while my young son showered, leaving him screaming and cold.
But most concerning was the creepy find down the side of the single bed that was against the wall - when we moved it to push the beds together for our son, it was filthy with dirt, dust and spiders down the side. There was one dead spider and one alive, which is completely unacceptable for a child's bed.
The sagging mattress on the single bed was also in poor condition and was uncomfortable.
In all fairness, the rest of the apartment was relative clean but the side of the single bed was honestly disgusting, and for the price paid, visitors deserve clean and functional facilities with working hot water.
When we expressed these issues to the company, they were not too concerned.
All up, this property fell below reasonable standards and really put a damper on our stay, causing undue stress when we were there to relax.
For these reasons, I cannot recommend staying here.
