Good stay, nice room . Room updated from our last stay here. We had a king bed with a sofa sleeper which we didn't need so we used it as a sofa and lounge area where we cuddled and watched a movie together. I had trouble sleeping 😴 one night and the couch was perfect, I watched TV quietly and my husband slept undisturbed. Kudos on fixing up the place , keep it up and we will be back 👍 😀

With consideration, that this property is currently remodeling. Our overall stay was pretty good. her first night we checked into a room and I had to clean areas of the room. One of the air conditioning units was broken, and the other one froze overnight. My husband went to the front desk in the morning and they immediately moved us to another room. that room was much cleaner and both air-conditioning units worked well. Being the time of year it was during our visit being in a separate building from the amenities wasn’t that big of deal. However, if we had been traveling in the middle of winter where we were staying, would have been inconvenient. there are two buildings for this property. We were staying in the building that didn’t have the breakfast, the front desk, the pool the workout room. It’s not a long walk, but in the dead of winner, it would be cold and inconvenient to have to walk across to get breakfast or go swimming. Other than that, our overall stay like I said before was pretty good

The staff were very courteous and friendly. Rooms clean and beds very comfortable. Outside. appearance does match inside (better on the inside). The only somewhat negative was the room had a bit musty smell. But overall I would recommend and gladly stay again

This isnt a Wyndham quality property. The property was a cheap noisy remodel. The photos and the brand name are deceptive. I could hear every other person staying in the hotel. If it didn't have the AmericInn Wyndham name it would be a cheap roadside hotel.

There are granite floors and granite counters in the bathroom. The mattress is actually very comfortable and when I made a comment about that to the owner, he said they just replaced them six months ago. You can tell that they are keeping up with things as ways to improve the hotel. Everybody who works there is very gracious and considerate, and always have smiles on their faces. The continental breakfast is pretty straightforward with fresh fruit, muffins, oranges, eggs, bacon, sausage, coffee.

New name, still the Worst Western The "exceptional" reviews for this hotel refer to the main building only. We were put in the second (detatched) building. They have slapped on a new coat of paint (even over unrepaired holes in the walls) and the furniture is new, but everything else is the same as the former Best (worst) Western. 2 people can't fit in the bathroom -the doorframe is 18 inches wide, rusty, moldy bathtub, old dirty shower curtain that is too long so you have to stand on it when you shower (yuck!) dirty carpets, greasy handprints on the headboard (??!), nothing on the walls, only outlets on the nightstands, no light in the entry. They don't fill the icemaker so you have to go to the other building, same for breakfast (not great when it's below 0 degrees). Also, the breakfast is not good and is the same every day. Unidentifiable stench in the hallways-better than it used to be but still there. Crappy TV service. Oh, and our mini-fridge was not a fridge but a freezer, so ruined our food/sodas. JUST DON'T STAY HERE. Better to stay 20 minutes away in Newton if everything else in Grinnell is booked. If you are expecting it to be like other AmericInns you have stayed in before, this is not that.

Disappointing hotel We were assigned to the non-attached building near the main hotel. It was aged. Ice machine did not work, the gym was a joke as it was not usable. The elliptical was broken, the stationary bike was broken, and the treadmill was all rusty and OLD. I had to pay $60 for day passes to the local Anytime Fitness to workout each morning. There was no plug in the bathtub to retain water for a bath. On the plus side it was quiet. Grinnell needs to update there hotels.
