Room service after 11 was non existent . I tried ordering food multiple times - the phone didn’t work and the app didn’t work. It’s 35 minutes from the airport (make sure to book a car beforehand because uber drivers can be sketchy - mine canceled on me in the car then tried to rip me off after). Otherwise , it’s a beautiful beach, the gym is adequate the food is good and bring a book and enjoy the beach life . Definitely pay for the platinum on the app because at the hotel it’s 45 dollars a day to upgrade per person.

This resort and beach are beautiful. There was only one problem while we were there. After checking in, when we got to our room there was what looked and felt like oil on the floor. The floor was very slippery. We actually had to hold on to the furniture so we wouldn't fall. It was a process to get staff to come to the room and when they got there it was difficult communicating with them. Finally, a cleaning person came and mopped the floor, and this solved the problem. I have to give a HUGE thank you to Francis. He went above and beyond to help us. Food at the restaurants was great. Food at the buffets was just ok. Food was cold. I ate a salad at every meal (which is not a bad thing) but I struggled to find satisfying options. The selection of fruit/bread was great, and both were a part of every meal. Overall, I would recommend this resort.
Arrived and had a speedy check in, porter took cases to our room which was 8004 slight musty smell on arrival but this soon cleared. Unusual layout with twin sinks in the main room, separate WC and large shower cubicle. Plenty of storage and loads of coat hangers. Drawers were wonky but still usable. Fridge with beer water and soft drinks. The toilet only flushed but would not flush again so a quick call to maintenance and this was sorted. A couple of times during our stay the maid had not been by 4, once we said leave the room and the second time she cleaned the room. Had to ring reception a couple if times for water as none was left. On the last day it looks like the maid took.tje plastic travel cups that we had with our kettle, spoke to reception about this but not resolved. There was the main restaurant and several others on site. We were told that the only restaurant bookable for evening mail was the steak restaurant, someone we spoke to queued nearly one hour to make a reservation we did not want to do this. We tried the Italian one night which seemed the same food at lunch time. We tried the Mexican a couple of times but there were oberv20 people in front of us waiting so we did not try again. The food I thought was adequate but not outstanding. A couple of times I struggled due to my onion allergens allergy to certain fish The complex itself wax very spacious with two storey accommodation. One TUI exclusive pool and bar and several other pools. The TUO pool wax very nice but I felt excluded more than anything. All the daytime entertainment was catered to the Soanish speaking and was not translated to English. A couple we wrote talking to said they were going to play Bingo, the caller asked if anyone wax English and they put their hand up but the Bingo was still not called in English. I spoke to several different people in the airport who stopped t different hotels and advised the same. The drinks were OK but I found very limited choice. After travelling to a RUI resort last year to Jamaica found that the drinks choice and the food a lot better. I found the evening entertainment very poor. Had a duo or a single person singing again in Spanish with the entertainment team getting guests up to dance Salsa, etc, before and after the show for a longer period of time that the main entertainment was on. The main entertainment was enjoyable such as a Michael Jackson show, 60's 70's and 80's show, etc but felt they should have been on for longer. The RUI parties we did not attend but were in a separate area to the hotel. The beach and hotel are spectacular but do not think the English are catered for not only in this hotel but in Porta Cana. We did not do any of the excursions so cannot comment on these. TUI did a couple of free shopping excursions but walking g rouglnd a shopping area in the middle of the day for 2 hours did not interest me.
Dreams Royal Beach Resort and their amazing staff made our 25th anniversary trip one that we will always remember. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, staff members made sure our every need was met. Some members of our party were in regular rooms and some were in preferred rooms but everyone was treated like preferred members. The food was amazing and we returned to several restaurants more than once (Fusion, On a Roll, Tres Colores, Seaside Grill) because of the wonderful meals we had there. During our stay, several staff members went above and beyond. Our concierge, Roberto, answered every question we had and checked in on us every day to ensure we were having the best vacation possible. The bartenders at Veranda (Carlos, Max, Anibal, Antonio) were fun, friendly, and engaging. You should definitely visit them! Maria and Rosario in the housekeeping staff kept our room clean and well-stocked. The waitstaff around our swim-out pool was fantastic. Delores and Wilkin were friendly and quick to return with our drinks. Wilkin was one of the best parts of our trip! He knew all our names, and what we were drinking, and checked in on us often. He became like a member of our family during our stay. We will absolutely be back to visit Royal Beach, Wilkin, and the amazing resort staff.
My family and I (myself, husband and 5yr old son) stayed at Princess Family Club from June 15-21. When we arrived Nes at the front desk was so kind and welcoming. He handed me a glass of champagne and quickly got us checked in. Much appreciated after a long day of traveling. He did let us know right away that the elevator was out of order, but that they were working on getting it fixed. Pedro, helped us with our bags and let us know that there was a second elevator but it was waaay in the back. It too was out of order when we checked in but it did work the reminder of our stay. We also saw the elevator maintenance company on site everyday so they were trying to address the issue. It did get fixed on our last night so better late than never. The children’s water park with accompanying buffet and bar were amazing to have access too. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee, beer, cocktails on hand until 4pm was a life saver. My personal favorites were the chicken pastelitos. I always made sure to grab as many as I could when they were on offer. I didn’t get the name of woman who was behind the buffet but she was so kind and greeted us everyday with a beautiful smile. Nikole was our favorite waitress! Also, so kind and attentive. At the kids club my little one was not a fan, but that was mostly because he didn’t connect with the other kids (language barrier). He much preferred being in the pool. Thank the good lord for Nancy!!! She was so amazing all week. Everyday when she saw us she made sure to check on us and always made sure our son was good (and me lol). Food: I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. The food is the family club buffet was very tasty and seasoned well. My favorite meal was at El Pescador. The food was cooked to perfection!! My least favorite meals were at El Guacho and Il Tartufo. At El Guacho the empanadas were just okay. I could tell they weren’t freshly made like the pastelitos I had at Mordisco. At Il Tartufo, the gnocchi in pesto was WAY overcooked and the barnzino with mashed potatoes was very salty. The selections at the main buffet, La Hispañola were also tasty and there were many options for everyone in the family. The Ice Cream truck near the main lobby is so cute and the perfect ending to dinner. We had ice cream every night! In the event that you want something off the menu that’s “special” like the ribeye, it will take 45-50 mins because they do not keep it in that particular restaurant. They have to get it from the central kitchen and it can take time to order, receive and cook it. Definitely not mentioned on the menu. If you really want it, my husband recommends calling way ahead. The WiFi is not that strong and that could definitely use some improvement. The signal is great in the lobbies and restaurants but not great in our room. Seeing as how you need the app to make reservations for dinner having strong WiFi in the rooms would be helpful. Stay far far away from anyone in an orange shirt!!!! They are t
Incredible stay. Room was perfect with a tremendous view. Cleanliness and comfort was impeccable. Both the beach and pools have ample chaises and areas for shade. Ate at 4 different specialty restaurants….my favorites (1-4) French, Japanese, Italian and Mexican. All were very good and reservations were readily obtainable. I had an extremely relaxing vacation and met incredible employees and guests. This was the friendliest and most attentive collection of staff that I have ever encountered.
