Welcome to Lake Sometimes Retreat, where adventure meets comfort—with no cleaning fee! Just 5 miles from Summersville Lake and 25 miles from New River Gorge National Park, you’re perfectly located for rock climbing, ATV trails, mountain biking, kayaking, and paddleboarding. The New and Gauley Rivers offer incredible fishing and whitewater. For a scenic trip, Babcock State Park and the famous Glade Creek Grist Mill are just 30 miles away. Inside, you’ll find a full-size kitchen equipped with everything you need to make a full dinner or a quick snack. After a day filled with exploration, rest easy in the king-size bed and savor a beautiful sunset from the covered porch with a warm coffee in hand. When it's time to clean up, enjoy the walk-in shower, then either unwind in the cozy privacy of your studio or join us around the fire pit to end the day under the stars. Lake Sometimes is a charming farmette where Luke, your host, lives on-site and is available if anything comes up. Past guests have loved meeting him, and he’s always happy to share local tips and ensure your stay is comfortable and memorable. Luke will send you a welcome email with all the information you need to easily access your room. The property hosts several units, and there’s ample parking for cars, boats, and even a few RV sites available for mixed-use groups. Guests find access easy, and our location right off Hwy 19 makes it simple to find us without any trouble. The property itself has some beautiful, unmanicured wetlands—hence the name "Lake Sometimes." When it rains, we get a “lake,” adding to the charm! Feel free to roam around and explore. I own most of the surrounding homes and am always working on enhancing the property. You’ll need your own vehicle, as public transportation isn’t available here. With our location just off Hwy 19, getting around is easy, and you’re welcome to join other guests by our shared fire pits for a little camaraderie. The studio is kept cool with new, cold A/C—perfect after a day outdoors!
