We were returning home from a 25 day trip driving out West and needed a good night's sleep. I requested a quiet room when I booked the room online. When I checked in, the gentleman at reception said we were on the second floor. I asked to be moved to a quiet room on the top third floor. He made the change without any hesitation. All good so far. As it turned out, "the quiet room" he gave us was directly across from the elevator, right next to the stairwell (and door to stairwell). On the other side: a family with young kids and parents who didn't know how to control their kids. Yeah! It was a great night of sleep. NOT! Bathroom (shower and commode) were relatively small. (Sink was outside bathroom.) Room okay. Basic and clean, but crowded. Breakfast was nice. The one thing I'll say is that this motel made the decision easy for us. The next day, we drove for 15 hours straight to get home so we wouldn't have to pay for another night of lousy sleep.

Keep driving. Do NOT stay here! Stopped here for the night and the only positive thing was the front desk staff. Jesse and Terry were really nice and I know they try to make things really nice. I appreciate how they match your ID to the reservation for fraud prevention. I also appreciate how they accommodate room requests. After that....it's all downhill.... So why did I rate service as a 2? Well, it would have been a 1...negative 1 if not for Jesse and Terry because service also include room cleaning and that was just terrible. In fact the condition of the entire hotel.....so rundown, worn, musty, DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY!!!! I must have washed my hands so many times the night I stayed because I just felt dirty. Let's see....aside from the hallway, stairs, etc that was dirty....let's just get to the room. Stains on the sink, I am not sure what was going on with the tub (see pictures) but I did not even bother taking a shower, stains on the shower curtain, stains that looked like blood on the room curtains, the fridge was dirty, and 1 of the beds.....dirty....it was clear that the sheets and bedding had not been changed. One might wonder why I stayed....exhaustion from all day traveling. Just wanted to collapse for the night and well....after checking there were no bugs- putting suitcases up off the floor, sleeping is what happened a part of the time. The area is super shady looking, and parking....well I parked under a street light because again...the area is super shady looking. The next morning, did not even bother to go to breakfast because I didn't trust eating anything that came out of this hotel. Just keep driving, don't stay at this location!

The room is very nice and the bedding was great and the rooms were quiet. Everything was clean and fresh. The check-in went smooth, and everyone was friendly. The breakfast was just ok. The typical breakfast: cereal, waffles, muffins, bagels, eggs and sausage. The price was $95+.

I am 76 and my husband is 79. We arrived at this hotel at 10:00 pm after a 16 hour drive. I showered and got in bed. I noticed a dirty towel in the bathroom but thought the maids just forgot it. My husband showered and got in the other bed and it was full of actual dirt. We called the desk. They changed the sheets on the one bed at 11:00 pm. I had already been in the other bed for 45 minutes so changing that one after the fact would have done nothing. We were exhausted. When I asked for a refund the next day I was offered $23 “because I has the option to pack up and leave and I had used their water to shower”. Covid is coming back…we are elderly and we were in a filthy room. With dirty towels we doubt the bathroom had been cleaned, The manager just said we could have left - exhausted in a small town in the middle of the night with no other reservation. The manager, Teagan Zachary made it clear we had used his water and didn’t leave so it is our possible health risk and our loss.

We spent one night in Hays at the Comfort Inn. After staying at a Comfort Inn in Goodland, we expected a better experience than we received in Hays. The room was smaller with a tile floor (no carpet). The phone was not connected to anything so it was unusable. The staff were friendly and were sorry that our phone was not connected to anything - they said they would have someone look at it "tomorrow". The breakfast was probably the best part of the stay. Overall, we would say this is not a good value for the cost.

This is an old hotel. The bath tubs and sinks are in dire need of replacement fixtures; however, it was clean. The staff was very friendly, it is in a popular area with a lot of hotels, and the breakfast was a cut above a higher priced competitor where I have previously stayed. We have a small dog and they were very accommodating. I read a review that said this area was dangerous. Really? It backs up to fields and is very safe. I went walking early in the morning and had no problems at all.

Everything was wonderful, comfortable and clean. Our 2 dogs were with us and they were very dog friendly. Big bonus was having a delightful restaurant right there. What a welcomed surprise after a long drive

We stayed here on our west coast trip due to location. It was comfortable had a good layout, but the bathroom could use some updating, as it seemed kind of run down, wit wallpaper peeling etc. There was a bus load of kids from a sports team checking in. Lots of noise during the night. Breakfast started at 7 and we went down around about 7:10 and there were no eggs in the place where the sausage was. It was a good stop and a decent price.

Good hotel stop as your midpoint of travel through Kansas. We stopped here on our first night of vacation. Everything was booked when we arrived, so definitely get yourself a reservation. Hotel was fine. Beds were comfy and shower was good. We would stay here again.

Convenient access off of I-70. Older motel, needs some updating and refinishing. Registration clerk rather unfriendly. Room basic. Bathroom tiny. Sink in the bedroom. Elevator clunky and slow - easier to take the stairs. Not sure that the cost is justified...stayed at much nicer hotels for the same price this cross country trip, including some with much more enticing views or destinations. Rather bland, but felt safe and clean enough. Same for breakfast. Rather average continental breakfast. The usual watery eggs and sausage links. I'm always happy for a waffle maker so there was that at least.

We had one bug, not sure what type, maybe a roach, crawl across the cabinet that the TV was on. The A/C made about a 5-10 second chirping noise every time it shut down. This made it hard to fall asleep after seeing the bug, it moved too fast to kill, and then having the A/C keep making this noise. This Comfort Inn is older and not remodeled. The room looked fairly clean & they had a hot breakfast, if it was not for the bug & noise, I would not be writing this review.
