The property was very beautiful and appropriately decorated with unique, special pieces. The chef prepared a delicious gourmet breakfast, and was very personal and friendly. Other than that, we would have been happier at any chain hotel down the road, and saved some money. The housekeeper was not clear at check in, giving one of us some instructions, and giving different written instructions to the other. We were asked to move our car after checking in, so moved it to street parking. We later found out that there was more secure parking further behind the property, but no one told us that. We left for dinner, and returned at 6:50, in the pouring rain, and were locked out, with no emergency number or code to the outside door. After FaceBook messaging the property and calling the local police we finally got a return call in about 20 minutes. Apparently the code was on the paper given to the spouse, who didn't do the checking in, and no code was mentioned to the person who did. We didn't bring that paper along to dinner. Furthermore, there was supposed to be an emergency phone number posted outside, and the next day there was. We were leaving earlier than the scheduled breakfast hour on our final day, and as suggested on "the paper", we requested "to-go" breakfasts of a muffin, and such. When we left the property at the hour we told the housekeeper that we would be leaving on the prior night, there was nothing prepared for us, and no one around to inquire with. Lastly, there were damp towels, neatly rolled up and placed along the wall behind the beautiful claw-foot bathtub, so the bathroom smelled like mold.
