Lovely

Food was amazing. Staff were incredible. Room not so good, little bit dated and worn out in places. We had an accessible room because it was good value. One thing that struck me as daft was you have to get out of bed to turn bedside lamps off, which if you are disabled defeats the object of accessibility. All in all we are happy with what we got. We paid a good price and it included 3 course a la carte evening meal and full English or continental breakfast. Would recommend this hotel but maybe upgrade to a better room than room 20.

The room was clean but it was tired, broken mirror, unsightly ceiling in the bathroom, heating didn’t work. Choice in dining room not great and really overpriced meals. Risotto lacked seasoning and was too expensive including a service charge in spite of receiving an apology saying sorry it took too long. The computer event the next day didn’t have enough seats in the orangery restaurant. Sadly disappointing stay. Nice people on reception .

Room was tired and really cold when we arrived, curtains were off some of the hooks so I had to straighten the hooks and refit the curtains. Could not get the air con/heater to work then found it was turned off, powered it up and fan was noisy. Bed were ok, carpet worn an stained. Shower head holder would not stay up, shower leaked on to the bathroom floor. Extremely noisy other guests in the corridor early hours of the morning shouting to each other then groups outside our window smoking and shouting to each other so awful loss of sleep. Got down to breakfast early to find eggs had gone so asked waiter for fresh eggs. When the eggs arrived we got our breakfast items, sat down to eat it and was stone cold and eggs dry and like rubber, complained it was cold and waiter took my plate away, waited 15 minutes or more for plate with now hot food but it had spoilt breakfast. Would not stop here again and wish we had saved a lot of money and booked the Premier Inn.

Very large room not far from reception for a very good price. I didn't have time to watch much TV but couldn't get the remote control to make it work and there were no instructions. The bathroom fittings were in need of refurbishment and the bath plug didn't work, so it was impossible to take a bath; however, there was a good shower. There were 3 windows and a sofa in the bedroom, which was great but the sofa was positioned so as to block access to the bay window, which meant that I had to either (a) move a heavy sofa to draw the curtain or (b) walk around naked in front of a full-length window overlooking the golf course. Not a problem for me (meaning that I could move the sofa, not that I am an exhibitionist) but it could be an issue for an elderly or infirm guest.

I was allocated a room with no window just a fire exit door with x 2 small frosted windows , I opened the door to fined a Brocken tables and stools

The check-in was disappointing. We contacted the hotel and requested an early check-in as we were arriving to attend a funeral. When we arrived our room was not ready and we had to sit in the lobby for an hour. I approached the desk to ask if our room was ready and was given an alternative room. The woman at the desk apologized and wasn't sure why our room was not cleaned knowing we were waiting. We did not receive a heads up regarding the work being done in the manor which was surprising.
