The hotel smelled strongly of sewer, inside and out, and was worse at different times of the day. We couldn’t even sit outside and enjoy the hotel’s fires because the sewer smell was so strong. Our room itself was FILTHY, and the corner of the bedspread had blood on it, and the dust ruffle was visibly dirty with what looked like someone’s shoes. No way I would drink out of the glasses in the room, as they were also visibly dirty and streaky like they had been wiped with a dirty rag (probably was!). The couch in the room had so much dust on it that you could visibly see dust, crumbs and dirt. It was GROSS!

The property is understaffed and has constant ongoing maintenance. We had to move rooms mid-stay due to a plumbing issue. The maintenance crew entered our room without permission, then left the room door and room window open along with a mess in the bathroom. We returned to the room with the door open and the mess. The manager did comp us for one night (we stayed two) for the issue. The bathroom by the “activity pool” was smelly and yucky. The check-in was quick and the receptionist was courteous and friendly.

This was the second year a group of about 15 of us stayed here over the July 4th weekend. Most of us have younger children. I sat at the pool from 10-6 two days in a row. I was hoping a waitress would serve us we didn’t have to leave our things pool side. I asked multiple times for service so I could feed our children or get them a drink. I was told by the waitress that she can only serve us if I had a cabana. We tried to order food from the pool and the staff decided they didn’t were done serving food before they were scheduled to. One of the parents had to speak to a manager just to order chicken fingers. Some mothers were told to walk to the restaurant and feed her kids then come back to the pool. We end up buying a cabana so we can get some sort of service and we still had to walk to the bar just for drinks. We all work in the hospitality industry. This experience was horrendous. We wanted to make this weekend an annual thing. Sadly we will never stay there again.

The hotel is actually nicer than I thought. Our 1st night was a disaster (staff issues) my shower got flooded and the safe box wasn't open for us to use it, I called front desk, they send "maintenance guy" who took forever to come, obviously had no clue and came smelling like was just coming back from his "**** Brake". Maintenance guy suggested re-doing the whole shower area and has no access to safe or software to re-set. He offered to come back with more towels to clean the flooded area but never did. Front desk girl, was unable to switch me to another room, she actually wanted me to move to a smaller unit and next day to move to a similar (moving all your stuff twice). The next day front desk saved the trip, Ximena was very kind and understanding, got me a very similar room and made the whole thing easier, Gloria at their restaurant was a pleasure to deal with 2 days in a row for breakfast (she is amazing)...overall due to staff shortage, hotel closed 1 of the pools during day time and the beach was inaccessible due to bunch of debris from the previous rain.

We reserved a room for a person in our wedding party. When she checked in, there was gray water in the sink and a gift left in the toilet. When she brought it to the attention of the front desk, the response was less than helpful. The front desk gave her a comped breakfast coupon. Very disappointed.
