The outside gave us pause. However, the room was very clean and smelled nice. The location was good but the GPS gave us strange directions about entering the property. We will stay there again.

The room was adequately furnished but dirty and lacked maintenance or care. Soiled sheets, bathroom door dirty and needs paint, curtains hanging off, neither safety lock on the door locked. On a very busy road at a busy intersection. Would not stay again.

The room was VERY outdated and had multiple problems: the sheets were spotted and stained; the towels were discoloured and stained (blood or mascara?); the carpet was badly stained and we didn't dare walk around without our shoes; the bathroom door didn't close and there was no fan in the bathroom; the circuit breaker was turned off for the fan/air conditioner, so that the room smelled dank when we entered - we had to ask for the circuit to be turned on; there had been a secondary lock on the door, but it was missing; we were told the room had two queen beds, but it was two double beds and they bed were very uncomfortable. Maybe it was just the room that we had, but I got the sense that the standard of room would have been acceptable to the hosts in the country that they recently imigrated from. I couldn't figure out how it had such a good rating on *******.

An Unexpected Surprise This motel was an unexpected surprise. I grew up in this area and this motel looks the same now as it did in the 1960's and 70's. But, even though the rooms and amenities were a bit dated, everything worked very well. The room was very clean and well maintained. We will definitely be back.

We had stayed here a few years ago. It's a throwback to the 70's for sure. Unfortunately nothing has been updated much to the property in several years. The rooms are really not dirty they are just showing their age but you get what you pay for

We booked this dump because ******* gave it a 8.0 out of 10.0 on 704 "verified" rewiws, and the price was right. I usually read the reviews but this was the last of 10 booking and I screwed up. Royal Motel is the type of motel that should book by the hour - it was beyond filthy, sink falling off the wall, smelled of bleach & mold, broken refrigerator, sprung bathroom door. If you wonder how it had such a high score, look at the 704 reviews. Of the latest 35, 26 were written by someone named "Edgar" who stayed 67 days and rated each stay as 10 out of 10. Of the remaining 9, 7 were rated 10 out of 10 while the last 2 were 2 out of 10 (i.e. terrible). Most of the reviews are phony in order to fool people into coming. ******* should be ashamed for allowing places like this to be on their website.
