Clean, quiet and comfortable accommodation. Swimming pool, sea views, bar and a mini supermarket just up the road. Friendly team working here. I’ll definitely return.

Buon soggiorno per dormire, ottima posizione vicino a tutto ottimo panorama, personale cortese, appartamenti molto spartani ma funzionali, unica pecca non avevamo l'occorrente per cucinare, pentole e stoviglie varie, ma tutto sommato consiglio per chi non ha tante pretese ottima qualità prezzo.

Een fijn complex . Het is basic, voor mij prima. Je kunt je wassen, slapen en een ont ijsje maken als je wil. Aan de poolbar kun je ook een ontbijt bestellen. Fijne bedden , schone handdoeken en toiletpapier . Het personeel is erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk.

Aus persönlichen Gründen ersuchte ich um einen Zimmerwechsel. Frau Vaso gab mir ohne Diskussion sofort den Schlüssel für ein für mich besseres Zimmer - ohne Aufpreis. Ich komme jedes Jahr im Mai und im Oktober nach Kreta und werde im Mai 2025 wieder ins Petra Village kommen. Vielen herzlichen Dank!

After arriving at midnight we were told what room had been allocated and left to it. The room had not been cleaned after the previous occupants had left. We were given another room after waiting an hour. Although this one had been cleaned it was very outdated. The toilet window was broken and was covered with a piece of sticky back plastic, there was mould on the walls and the curtains looked more like rags and barely fitted across the windows. Adding to this there was a problem with the electricity and a large generator was running all day in front of the pool area meaning all you could hear and smell was the generator. The sun beds were filthy and the whole place needs a total revamp. No way is this 3 star accommodations I wouldn’t even give them one.

Echo everything said in the negative reviews. Before we came here I thought I would wind up the missus by showing her the scene in the inbetweeners movie where they arrive at the hotel. Oh dear, the reality was worse. On a positive note, Petra Village LOOKS nice from the road and the bar and pool area are pleasant if you ignore the boorish UK regulars getting aled up. However the apartments are disgusting. -The bins are meant to be emptied every day but it was every other day if lucky. Given you cannot flush toilet paper down the toilets and the bathrooms have no extractor fans, the stench becomes pretty grim pretty quickly. -On arrival late at night we had the keys given to us, no directions where our apartment was and told air con was an extra €6 a day. The air con was very intermittent and had clearly seen better years (decades). -The beds are concrete slabs with a matress. -The bedding and towels had suspicious soil marks. -The shower curtain was so mouldy that it practically walked. -There is no way you could self cater as virtually no equipment and what there was was dirty and rusty. The microwave looked like it hadnt been cleaned in years. -There was one maid for the entire complex and it was clear it was too much for her. -Reading the positive reviews there are glowing reviews of the owners and how friendly they are. Whilst we were there they spent all their time at the bar smoking and on their mobile phones. Overall I got the impression of a tired, dirty complex that needs gutting and starting again. The local village on the other hand is a gem, full of fantastic restaurants and welcoming people. We MAY visit Crete again but would give Petra Village a miss.

Yes we had all the problems listed in the previous reviews plus the added bonus of no electricity.....which meant no hot water and no flushing toilets! A generator was bought in, it sat on the back of a pickup truck making a tremendous noise and billowing out deisel fumes just at the right level to be breathed in as you lay by the pool. As youll have read some people loved it there and some people hated it but my argument is with the tour operators (in our case Jet2 )who are selling this as 3***accommodation, who checks these rooms?? We read some of the earlier bad reviews but thought "no, if can't be that bad or surley Jet2 wouldn't be using it" well sadly we were wrong ☹️ PS Kouloutoufari is just lovely, don't let it put you off going there!

Honest Review,when we arrived our request for lower rooms was met and further more we got a one bedroom apartment instead of a studio ,was really pleased so thankyou for that.Pool area was lovely ,maybe a wee clean around the white grill bits,a wee bit grubby but its near the end of season.Didnt stop us going in pool.Lots of returners,mostly all friendly ,didnt appreciate welsh lady informing my wife she was sitting on her sunbed,so Hi de Hi .Owners were friendly and we felt very welcome ,first time there.Maid service could have been better,but didnt bother us too much,we always bring stuff to clean and wash up.Last week maids left them in the lurch so 2 days the bins werent emptied but they sorted it for us.Sad to leave we made loads of friends and my wife misses the wee pool man,she always gave him lots of hugs,can you please tell him she was asking for him,he was an angel.

Best time ever. Vaso and the team are amazing. They’ll do anything to help. The rooms were very clean! Could not fault them. Comfortable, and good value for money (we paid for flights and hotel separately) Will be returning next year! Can’t wait to make more memories

First night there were packed off to " Romantica Apartments" as was double booked!!!! and was nothing romantic about it. Next day at petra for 8 in morning eventually getting our place at lunchtime. Everything appeared okay in room and seemed clean however on a night was eaten alive, had mosquitoe plug ins but never saw any. Bedbugs ????? Few people really badly bitten and in agony. Been back a month and still scarred from bites!!!!! Pool area okay but needs work and updating. Bar area ok but staff did get bar bills wrong on couple occasions. Bit further away from main area but a nice enough walk and not too far from anywhere. Wouldn't come back to petra as too many issues with bedbugs but staff on the whole were lovely and did all they could. Shame really as could be a really great place with some money spent on it.

Despite some very negative reviews I have to say my solo trip was amazing. I couldn’t believe how much room the apartment had. Mine was directly looking over the pool, was lovely and clean everywhere and cleaned regularly including towels. Every member of staff were so welcoming and friendly, couldn’t do enough to help or make your stay comfortable. If you didn’t want to socialise you were left alone respectfully which I wanted but I never got the impression I was ever ignored or treated any differently to repeat guests. Drinks at the bar were very generous and cheap. I never ate at the bar but all the food I saw come out looked absolutely delicious and very generous portions/fresh. I walked everywhere and loved it. I also felt very safe despite being a lone female.

after reading some bad reviews, I was quite worried about staying here but it turned out to be an absolute gem of a place. It was basic, but this was reflected in the price, but it was clean and safe and located in a beautiful village in the mountains. The bar and pool area was lovely. Many guests return year after year and were friendly and welcoming. The bar served snacks with more selection during the day. If you are not expecting 4 star, I would really recommend Petra Village

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. As you scroll on my you wtll read a lot of *BLOOD ON SHEETS AND BEDS**..... This inevitably means BED BUGS, check your mattresses, back and front and in all the crevices. I was horrendously bitten and hospitalised TWICE during my trip. My husband has dialysis, these buds were crawling into his needle marks from dialysis. STAY AWAY. We had to move out. So bad we suffered, we took them to court and won hands down!! I watched that constantly drunk bleached blonde owner LIE THROUGH HER BACK TEETH IN COURT TO MY BARRISTER! We STILL WON. Shane on them. Thhs place truly IS a FILTHY UPHOLSTERED MANHOLE and has been for YEARS. Don't ruin the holiday you have worked hard for and looked forward to all year. We also had to dispose of all of our clothes, belongings and suitcases to save being infested with the bed bugs at home ALL OF THEM..... Bed bugs travel FAST, into EVERYTHING not just your bed, they will go wherever they detect a humam blood feed and they bite in clusters or linears. SO if that's what you are seeing GET OUT but don't take a single item of your belongings with you. NOT ONE and that includes every item in your suitcase! They TRAVEL FAST! YOU WOULDN'T WANT THEM AT HOME! **I OWN THE RIGHT TO PUBLISH THIS POST DUE TO WINNING OUR UK COURT CASE AGAINST THIS HOTEL**.
