Sunday lunch, wow. Beautifully cooked, presented and hot meal, the setting has been tastefully updated, attentive team of staff whom were warm and friendly. Would recommend to anyone, thank you to the team at Moresby hall. P.s I was so impressed with the food I got carried away and forgot to take photograph's!

What a beautiful looking hotel, with the staff and new owners to match, my stay at the hotel was a very special one, celebrating my 60th birthday, the owner Steph and her lovely family made me feel very special. Thank you so much for your hospitality, wish you all the best for the future.

Back to our favourite place, our wedding venue. Had an amazing stay, so welcoming, warm and hospitable. The food was beautiful and our four poster room was so spacious and inviting. Love this place. We will definitely return again and again

Stayed in between Christmas and New Year with the family and couldn't fault our stay. Hosts were fantastic, food was great and the accommodation was spotless. Will definitely return and would recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Whitehaven.

I booked in March but then sent a mail to the hotel to cancel some 3 months before and in line with the policy on my booking which was 48 hours before. To my horror the hotel have taken £321 off me and ignored my cancellation request. I am now in dispute. Be very aware this hotel is not good for customer service or complying to its T&Cs

Booked for a business trip, I had a meeting mid afternoon and wanted to be settled in the room before starting my online meeting, this meant checking in early, I called the hotel and they were very polite on the phone and happy to oblige. On arriving I had to ring a bell to be let into the building, I was shown to my room, Rooms are ok, comfortable enough and clean if a bit cold. The lady that checked me in asked what time I want breakfast, I was leaving early, before usual breakfast service but was offered for there to be some cereal etc out for me to grab, which was a nice offer. I then found the restaurant is no longer operating, which wasn’t on the ******* listing. So I ended up at the premier inn restaurant down the road for dinner. On arrival back at the hotel I was greeted by someone who seemed annoyed at me, told breakfast was not possible as they lock the rooms downstairs, as well as the front doors?? Seems like they don’t trust their guests. Any way I said it didn’t matter and went back to my room. Slept ok, got ready to leave for the day and just as I was on the way out, I was offered breakfast which I now didn’t have time for. There is a building site right outside the hotel, I didn’t notice noise, but others might. Turn into the hotel is very tight if you have a big car. Without an on-site restaurant and other small ******* in all honesty it’s not worth the effort, just stay at the premier inn.

Absolutely beautiful and fantastic service. Stayed here for work. It was cheaper than a big chain and the room was huge. The bed was super comfy, the uniqueness and history was amazing. The welcome was impeccable and the food was delicious. If I had to give a suggestion the only thing would be fruit with the continental breakfast but that wasn't enough to spoil an enjoyable work night away.

Excellent stay over two nights. Can't praise the staff or place enough. Charming building full of character. Meals very tasty and value for money. Cleanliness to a very high standard. First visit, we will definitely be back. Eileen, Joan and Kate.

Called in for light refreshments after a local walk and passing by. Got to know more about the history of the place by the staff and was even shown round a few rooms, Would highly recommend this lovely hotel. A hidden gem. We will definitely be back
