面見海洋別墅酒店(Sea Yo Villa Hikkaduwa)

Unfortunately, to my mind this is a scammer. Or how else to call a person who behaves this way. We booked this villa for this new year back in October on a ***********. At the beginning of December, the owner wrote to us to clarify whether we were confirming our reservation, as he still had people who wanted to live in his villa on these dates. We have confirmed. He did not send us any invoices, cards for debiting money were not indicated either, only cash upon arrival. And then, on December 17, a week before our arrival, he wrote to us in a personal message that he would not be able to host us. He did not give any reasons or explanations, only general phrases. We replied that we really need this villa, as we are traveling with friends (who rented a neighboring villa), that just 2 weeks left before the new year and nothing was left in Hikkaduwa. But he just ignored our message. Awfull situation, we had urgently change our plans and give up our vacation. We also wrote a ***********, but they replied that our reservation was saved and everything is in order. But on the night of December 26, I did not want to be in Hikkaduwa with the children in front of a closed door. So I strongly advise against contacting this owner despite the number of good reviews. There are no guarantees that you will actually be able to live there, and this owner will not re-rent his villa at a higher price to someone else.

A great place to go with family. Has access to a beautiful private beach and a great scuba dive center. Mr Kaminda was kind and helpful and so were all staff. The kitchen is nice and we could cook for ourselves. But the best part was the empty private beach with the most amazing sunset. I definitely want to go back there again. 🌅
