The Sheraton Grand Hiroshima Hotel delivers from beginning to end regarding service and location. I had the chance to stay one night in early June before heading next morning to Okunoshima, and it was highly worth it. Next to Hiroshima Station, this location is a must. In addition, the quality of service provided by each member, either at the front desk or Club Lounge, was excellent. Daisuke in the Club Lounge was helpful and went above and beyond to assist during my stay. Regarding the room, I highly recommend booking a Club Level room or suite. The panoramic views of Hiroshima are amazing, but the room is exceptionally comfortable. I had the chance to stay in a suite, approximately 750 sq. ft., which was quite comfortable, especially the bed. The bathroom was spacious, and the bathtub was worth it after a long day or walk in the city. I also recommend the spa facilities in the hotel. If you pay around 1,650 Yen, you can use the pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room, and cold bath. This is a great activity to relax and disconnect from reality fully. I enjoyed my time there and would return if I had the chance. Overall, it was a great stay, and thankful for the generosity and excellent customer service provided by the team in this hotel.
It is a decent 20-25 min walk from the Hiroshima railway station, as it is not convenient (and in most cases not permitted) to take your suitcases in the trolley car/trams. It’s less than 10mins from Hiroshima Station by trolley bus to the Hatchbori stop and then a straight 5 min walk down the street to the hotel. In saying that it is just a 5 min walk to the main downtown shopping and dining areas. The hotel itself is nothing special, with a handy 7/11 convenience store on ground floor and the lobby/dining area on 2nd floor. There are only two lifts so be prepared to wait during busy periods, the other option is to climb the stairs – not great if you have luggage. The reception staff understand basic English so don’t try to ask for anything too complex. The lounge area adjacent to the reception is sleek, modern and comfortable with views out onto the street. It does have a decent coffee machine & free biscuits. Our room was a moderate double (not certain what that means) but was not particularly large, although the toilet and bathroom separate. The double was comfortable but pushed up against the wall, which means not that easy to access, given that there was no cupboard space and limited hooks to hang anything. The washing sink was in the bedroom and the bathroom just had a shower/bath – little unusual for us Westerners. All your amenities: toothbrush, comb, razors, body towel, cotton swabs etc are only available at the reception desk. There is a coin laundry on the 9th floor (with clean and modern machines) and drink vending/ice machine on 5th / 12th floors – though there are no signs in the lifts or information in the rooms letting you know where they are. They serve a Japanese/Western buffet breakfast in the dining room, Vista Café, on the 2nd floor, which is clean, modern cafeteria style room. It is open 6:30am – 10:00am and even though it was busy we never had to wait for a table. The food was fresh and they offered a good variety of dishes. Enjoyed the freshly cooked Hiroshima-okonomiyaki, though we did have better ones in the local restaurants. In summary the hotel was comfortable, the room a little small and in a reasonable location but nothing spectacular.
訪訪客The location could not be more perfect. It's a two block walk to the Atomic Bomb Memorial Museum and Park. It's in the most walkable neighborhood possible with great paths along the rivers for jogging or walking. There are delightful restaurants within two or three blocks: I had vegan one night (Lave), Vietnamese another night, French a third night, Japanese okonomiyaki a fourth night, and Turkish a fifth night! I was disappointed I didn't get to try the Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood but I ran out of nights. While I was staying at WeBase, an entire high school overseas group also stayed there. I did not hear a thing! The rooms seem completely soundproof. I can't recommend this place enough. The staff was super helpful and knew the answer to specific questions I had about services in Hiroshima like where to mail a postcard or buy a suitcase. They let me email them a document to print it off as well. My only suggestion: I wish they had coffee and hot water kettles in the rooms so we could have coffee before we come downstairs to buy it. That said their Americanos were wonderful and their breakfast brioche buns as well.
Hhonest_traveller2929This was my first capsule experience and honestly it has everything that you would need for a short stay. I was also surprised at how quiet it was once you are in your capsule. The capsules are also much bigger than expected! It's handy that the toilet, shower, and sink area are all in separate areas. All are really clean as well, perhaps because it's a woman's only floor! I stayed in a ”superior” capsule which was a little like having the lower bunk bed but the top bunk is separated off. It was in its own little room which a partician door but the door doesn't lock. You do get a locker inside this area which does lock for your valuables. Sadly the thing lowering the rating for me was the comfort of the bed. The mattress was extremely thin and I just couldn't get comfortable. I ended up sleeping on top of the duvet hoping for extra comfort but that didn't help either. The capsule is also quite chilly. They had the Aircon on and you cannot control that for your room although the capsules do also have their own air con if you are travelling in summer and need extra cooling.
訪訪客Fantastic hotel, opened just 9 months ago, still smells new. Located 10 minute bus trip from Hiroshima station and 15 minute walk from the peace museum/park. Stayed in beautiful one bedroom suite on 21st floor (second highest). Great view of the city through panoramic windows. Staff very friendly, engaging in small talk, specially when they see you are wait for example at the reception. Great breakfast choice, egg station. You can order to table some extra drinks like mango juice and waffles. Executive lounge located on 22nd floor, also great views. Lounge looking nice, with tables quite cramped. As far as food is concerned, I think one of the best Hilton lounges I recall. Choice of number of small sandwiches, cheese, cold meats, salads, beef stew, sweets etc. Swimming pool, dry sauna and large jacuzzi available.
This hotel is located in Otemachi of Hiroshima area, a quiet neighborhood and is not far from the Peace Memorial Museum and Park. I think there is a lot of people and foot traffic around Fukuromachi and Hondori area, so I appreciate the closeness to it and yet, Kuretakeso is in a quiet place. There are couple of street car lines and buses stops by the hotel, easy to go to places. What I appreciate the most is the free breakfast each morning. The buffet has Japanese and Western style foods, even unagi bowls! And then there is nightly happy hour too! Oh, the coin laundry is great because it’s separate washers and dryers, not the combo machines. I absolutely love this hotel and would recommend it for everyone.
