Mackey Landing is a beautiful self contained 750 square foot suite. It is ideally situated for a quiet get away. It accommodates from one to four guests, children are welcome but please no pets. This suite has its own parking for one vehicle and a private entrance. There is additional parking available at the top of the driveway. There is a king size bed upstairs and a pull out queen sized sofa bed in the living area downstairs. It has a private bathroom with a shower and claw foot tub. A far infrared sauna is available for your private use. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, large toaster oven and induction hot plate. At Mackey Landing we provide all the essentials for a delicious self catered breakfast. A wood stove adds to the basic electric heat and a wonderful window seat adds to your comfort and reading pleasure. Enjoy our large book and games supply also we have a WiFi connection.Mackey landing is the first home on a private driveway off of Beddis Rd. It is only a 3km drive from town and a 15 minute walk from a public ocean access . It has bus routes available for town and the ferry terminals. The suite has two small covered wooden decks, one on each level and an outside private wooded sitting area which includes a barbecue and seasonally a lovely forest hammock. A laundry facility is available for visits over three days. Theresa and I live on the property and have called Saltspring Island our home for 35 years. We are happy to meet you for a visit, give you information about the island or respect your complete privacy while you visit. This is the home of an artistic family, all the art work in the suite is for sale and Ron's studio is open for a visit by appointment. Amongst the trees, away from it all and at the end of a long private driveway sits Garden Cottage; even though you feel completely secluded you are close to the ocean, parks, maybe stop by one or all of the many gourmet farm stands in the area, just enjoy the deck and the trees or in 18 minutes be at the famous Saturday market and all that Ganges has to offer.About pets:Pets allowed: dogs less than 20 lbs per pet (limit one pet total).There is a fee. Simply park your car in Tsawwassen at the Park & Ride or the BC Ferry terminal parking lot, walk-on the ferry to Long Harbour, and walk-off only 5 minutes to the property. Have a boat and want to boat over to Salt Spring instead? No problem, park your boat on our private dock!Whether you’re seeking a tranquil escape, a mini wellness retreat, or a cozy home base to explore Salt Spring’s charm, this home is a rare find. Come for the views—stay for the circuit of relaxation.Guest access: Guests will have access to the whole home and property during their stay.Interaction with guests: I live in the home most of the year, but during the high season, I stay in the RV that is parked on the property. During bookings though, I stay with my partner so that the guests can have complete privacy.
