弗洛西麗德酒店(Hotel Fljotshlid)

We arrived late at night and they gave us a room with 2 beds put together for one person and a twin room for me and my husband so we've had to exchange it and carry the sheets to the hallway in the middle of the night. The furniture is old, ugly and dusty. It wasn't even reconditioned. The sheets and towels also old. We asked if we could get an early breakfast (30 min earlier than the usual hour) and they never came back with the answer... We confirmed our check out between 10 am and 11am and at 10:30 they knocked at the door and ask us either to live or pay to extend the stay. It is the first time that something like this happens. The mattress was good and the breakfast was ok.

Staff 10/10, desayuno 10/10, comodidad 10/10, ubicacion y tranquilidad del lugar 10/10. Un lugar hermoso para alojar, con paisajes increibles.

Wir waren in einem der Sommerhäuser untergebracht, es war ungeputzt und der Service ließ zu wünschen übrig. Im Kühlschrank waren fremde Essensreste verschmiert, in der Spüle lagen auch welche. Im gesamten Wohnbereich lagen Krümel und Staub auf dem Boden, ebenso auf und unter dem Sofa. Als wir dann anfangen wollten zu kochen, nachdem die Essensreste von einer Angestellten entsorgt und wir selber die Wohnung noch einmal gefegt und gewischt hatten, mussten wir leider feststellen, dass auch die beiden Pfannen ungewaschen Essensreste von VormieterInnen aufwies. Nachdem wir damit wieder zur Rezeption gingen und sagten, dass sich so etwas in Zeiten von Corona extrem unwohl anfühlt, wurden wir belächelt, die Pfannen zwar gewaschen, aber ohne jegliche Entschuldigung oder ein Entgegenkommen. Wir haben wirklich keinen hohen Standard, aber das, was uns hier erwartet hat, hat uns sehr unwohl fühlen lassen! Wir würden diese Unterkunft niemandem empfehlen.

The dinner and service was good. However the room really needs to be renovated. The shower curtain smelled sweat, the bed eas old, small and totally uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel.

We stayed on a group tour with the hope of seeing the lights with no light pollution. Sadly, too cloudy. Great welcome by the manager, super cheery woman! Awesome food, the evening buffet was fab and they were so good with my GF and DF dietary requirements, I could still have over half the options. Ditto with breakfast. Bought an Icelandic jumper knitted by local lady. They had a few on a clothes rail and encouraged you to try them on. Room good size but pretty basic and REALLY soft beds, like a trampoline! Was fine for one night.

I would recommend this place. Good room, good breakfast and dinner and it had a nice country tho feel to it in the spacious lobby. Books, games and pictures there for your entertainment. Also walked down their access road and got a great view of the northern lights.

Hotel Fljotshlid was one of the best hotels we stayed at for our honeymoon adventures in Iceland. A little secret hideaway. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and clean. The restaurant served a hot buffet in the evening, which was fantastic for those travelling and wanting a warm hearty meal after a long day. The staff were attentive and helpful. The surrounding areas were beautiful and picturesque. For those wanting to stay and chill for a bit longer, they even have books, games, puzzles and even a pool table. All this for a reasonable price. We would highly recommend this hotel.
