阿什尼爾桑布魯營地酒店(Ashnil Samburu Camp)

Super tolles Camp mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Unsere Game Drives haben wir mit Shukri gemacht. Einfach spitze👌. Die Tiervielfalt war unglaublich. Auch die Special Five vom Samburu haben wir alle gesehen. Und zum Frühstüch bekamen wir Besuch von Obama einem Elefantenbullen🐘 👍

L'ultima notte del nostro safari in Kenya l' abbiamo passata in questo Camp. Struttura nel complesso molto bella con le tende che a colpo d'occhio ti conquistano più da fuori che da dentro dove in effetti necessiterebbero di un pò di manutenzione. Ho trovato veramente eccessiva la presenza di grilli sia in camera che nel ristorante (saltavano dalla tavola ai piatti in testa e cosi via) Il personale è indubbiamente gentile come in tutte le strutture in cui abbiamo alloggiato. Il pranzo e la cena si buoni (menù alla carta, no buffet) ma anche troppo elaborati pensando al contesto. Bella l'idea di utilizzare la legna per alimentare la stufa esterna che riscalda l'acqua della doccia.

The food was very good, daily set menu to select from cooked fresh. Breakfast was a good spread of fruit, yoghurts, cereals, eggs made to order. There’s only Wi-Fi in the communal area and was quite slow. Room was clean with complimentary bottled water added each day. Bed was comfortable but there wasn’t any mosquito net over the bed which we would have liked. Staff all very friendly and helpful. They need to redesign the entrance area and bathroom of the rooms as the odd triangle shape for the entrance door was very inconvenient to get in and out of, hole forming in the wall from everyone banging the door in to the wall. Similarly the toilet and shower spaces have been poorly planned out and the door handles also hit the tiled walls. The website described it as luxury but overall the rooms are dated (we were in room #15, our toilet had a very weak flushed, button didn’t work well), perhaps was luxury 20 years ago. Also very disappointed to see they are running on a generator for electricity which means they’ve set two power cuts per day, and burning wood for the hot water. They should invest in solar panels and/ or water heaters considering the amount of sun they get here. Laundry service was good but they are still using plastic bags, why? All other lodges we stayed at provided baskets for you to put your laundry in. There is an electric fence along the perimeter so you can walk alone in the dark, whereas at other camps that are open you need staff to walk you to and from the room after dark. This was on the buffalo springs side, we saw lots of animals on this side so no problems being this side versus the Samburu side. Was approximately 30mins drive from this lodge to the Samburu gate. If visiting again we would consider staying here again.

I have recently returned from a fabulous stay at Ashnil Samburu. We had incredible wildlife experiences, but the highlight was the staff. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. We loved our tented accommodation, and the meals were delicious. Special thanks to our amazing guide Shukri, and all our new rafikis for teaching us some Swahili. Asante sana. We're already planning a return visit.

Very nice camp in Buffalo Springs right across from Samburu. Rooms are large tent style, with wonderful views out across the plain. Lots of animals close by, and plenty of signage warning about it. Have to be careful to lock everything up because of the monkeys. Had one get into our room at one stage but chased it out. Large living area with divider separating the bathroom, shower and WC from the living space. Facilities and fittings are very modern We had extra bed in the room, so I guess it was a family room. Main bed is comfortable with good quality white linens. There is a nice outdoor sitting area with nice views out into the park. The resort has a nice outdoor pool between our tent and the main complex. The restaurant is excellent, food was very good and a la carte rather than buffet like a lot of the resorts. Service in the restaurant was very personal and not rushed, which we nice. This was one of the best places we stayed at and we would highly recommend.

Totally loved our stay at Ashnil Samburu. The staff are wonderful and feel like family. Our tent was beautiful, so comfortable with lovely features, the camp setting is perfect and the fabulous meals are all delicious. Thanks so much to Shukri, John, Alfred and the team, wish we could visit again soon.

Wir waren im Rahmen unserer Safari 3 Nächte Ende Februar im Ashnil Camp. Die Lage direkt am Ewaso Nyiro und in mitten eines tropischen Gartens war wunderschön. Vor allem weil es im Buffalo Springs zu unserer Zeit noch sehr trocken war, ist die Pause am Pool mit vielen Affen und Vögeln immer eine Oase der Entspannung. Das Essen ist ganz hervorragend, hier nochmal ein dickes Lob an den Küchenchef! Es gibt immer 5 Gänge, die wunderschön angerichtet werden. Vor allem die kleinen Trios als Dessert waren perfekt: von allem etwas aber nie zu viel. Die Zelte sind schön eingerichtet, es gibt eine gemütliche Terrasse und das Bett ist super bequem. Moskitonetze gibt es leider keine, wir hatten unser Pop Up Zelt dabei, haben es aber nicht gebraucht. Mein Mann hat gleich am 2. Tag sein Handy verloren ( es hat sich im Safariauto versteckt) und die ganze Crew hat danach gesucht. Zum Glück haben wir es am letzten Tag wiedergefunden. Das ganze Team ist unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit, unsere Kellnerin Gloria war ein Schatz! Da wir mit privatem Fahrer hier waren kann ich nichts zu den Drives des Camps sagen, gesehen haben wir jeden Tag alle Samburu 5, einen Leoparden, Elefanten und vieles mehr. Leider keine Löwen…. Vielen Dank noch an unseren Ranger, der uns zum Buschfrühstück begleitet hat, es war ein soooo schöner Morgen sogar mit Elefant beim Frühstück. Empfehlen würden wir auch dringend einen Tag im Samburu Teil zu verbringen, nochmal ein ganz anderer Eindruck als Buffalo Springs. Absolutely excellent place to stay in Samburu, which is itself an absolutely excellent reserve to visit. The "tents" were lovely (half tent, half building). The staff were outstanding, so friendly and helpful. A special mention to Gloria our waitress who was a delight. On the whole of or 12 day, multi camp, safari she (and the chef) were the only people who had actually read the briefing note about our daughter's food allergy. She could not have been more attentive thanks Gloria! The food was delicious too. The pool was a really nice touch after a hot game drive. Samburu itself was wonderful, so much to see. Everything was great!

Que du positif sur ce camp ! Les tentes sont spacieuses, très belles, très propres, à quelques mêtres de la clôture qui sépare le lodge de la réserve (l'occasion de voir depuis sa tente des éléphants : c'est du vécu!). La cuisine est excellente, les plats sont variés et copieux et très très bons ! Le personnel est très attentionné. L'emplacement du camp permet de voir beaucoup d'animaux en safaris sans avoir à s'éloigner énormément (des éléphants sont tout près!). Je recommande à 200% car si je devais un jour retourner à Samburu, j'irai à Ashnil sans hésiter.
