Our stay here was pre-paid through ******* for 2 nights. After the first night, prior to leaving the hotel that morning, my husband made sure the desk knew that we'd return that night so as to make sure housekeeping didn't go in the room. The next morning we were given a charge slip under the door showing we'd been charged for the second night which shouldn't have happened obviously. My husband went and told the desk we should be refunded. After he went round and round with him, twice, and did not get a satisfactory response, or a refund receipt, I went to discuss it with him. Their explanation as to why this occurred in the beginning was that their "charge to *******'s card did not go through". In other words, *******'s credit card was declined (?) I should add here: this desk clerk had a weird habit of calling everyone "his friend" and referred to me as "my dear". Ok, maybe this is a S. Illinois thing? The clerk ran off and hid in the back office and refused to wait for an ******* rep to get on the phone to confirm that our stay was paid and find out exactly why they weren't paying Sleep Inn. So I called after leaving and had ******* call the hotel. According to *******'s rep., the same clerk assured her there'd be a refund. Now, four days after returning my credit card has now not only NOT received a refund, but I've been charged AGAIN by Sleep Inn for a second night. So now, I've paid for a two night stay 4 times. Never again will we stay here. Be warned!
