蒂普託普汽車旅館(TIP Top Motel)

The hotel started 1916. Location near to Lihue airport is a plus. Condition is run down in the exterior but makes up for it with newly fixed up rooms. Clean.

It was a room for the night. That's all I needed and that us certainly all I got. It was clean. The bed was comfortable. The rooms in the old cinder block building have a wall air conditioning unit installed, good. It is loud and very close to the bed. We could also hear other guests coming in late at night. It served its purpose for me , but next time i will probably upgrade, spend more.

mGood price. Fees were minimal. Better than most places tha charged $ 250 /night not including fees. One such place charged a $175 cleaning fee and the total price was around $550. Make sure you know total costs before booking. Tip top was fair but I never saw anyone manning a front desk.

Our plane landed after 10 pm and hotel was close to airport so we started our week at a timeshare on Sunday rather than Sunday. We would stay here again. We enjoy our timeshare with its view of the ocean more but our stay there cost a lot more. Staff was wonderful.

This is Motel 6 of Kauai. The hotel has been updated with vinyl floors and the bathrooms were redone in the recent past. The beds are Motel 6- firm and you can feel the springs a bit. Maid service is intermittent at the moment, but the room starts clean and basic. Inside, the rooms are painted block, but are clean. The A/C works, but was quite loud. The hotel is in a residential area in Lihue, so you can hear rice rockets and loud cars. The windows are standard Hawaiian glass slats that do little for noise abatement. Most hotel guests were quiet. Two permanent residents of the hotel live on the lower floor, so a random table is outside and sometimes there is a group hanging out, but never past the 10pm quiet hour cutoff. Don't be intimidated. Walking by, they offered a beer and I hung out for a while. Kauai has gotten very expensive so this is a reasonable budget option if you need a place to sleep. The bakery and breakfast room open at 7am and are packed with locals on weekends, but that is the only amenity.

Room smelled of urine. Small window AC unit was very noisy and did not cool adequately. Hawaiian "micro ants" crawling all over. People smoking nearby outside of poorly sealed windows, so smoke drifted into room. On the positive side towels were clean and fresh. Very over-priced for poor accommodation. Would not recommend this place.

Its kind of a "you get what you paid for" situation. Did not feel worth $165 a night. Bed was pretty uncomfortable and saw bugs crawling on the floors. Nice area but not such a nice hotel stay.

Very professional staff, comfortable beds, clean, cafe food is delicious and centrally located in Lihue to alot of businesses. Uber and Lyft easily accessible. Went for walks and was safe. Very quiet environment and peaceful.

We were just looking for a bed. We got what we were looking for. A person going to work honked honked his horn all the way past the hotel at 4am. That spoiled the wonderful hospitaliy of the Hawaian people.
