I stayed here 8 years ago and now I came back. The location is great, close to everything. It includes a delicious breakfast and the balcony offers a relaxing place to drink tea or rest, while admiring the views. The owner Keshab and his staff are very helpful, friendly, and willing to make your trip a great experience.

We stayed at Shangri-La Boutique Hotel before and after our Everest Base Camp trek, and it was the perfect choice. Keke, the owner, was absolutely fantastic. Knowledgeable, welcoming, and incredibly helpful in making our trip unforgettable. On our first day, Keke helped us organise white water rafting, canyoning, and rock climbing to make the most of our time in Kathmandu. His local expertise and attention to detail ensured everything was seamless and enjoyable. I highly recommend staying here for the lovely rooftop breakfast, the overall great atmosphere, and the opportunity to involve Keke in planning your adventures. He truly made our experience in Kathmandu worth every minute!

Keshab organised our 12 day Manaslu trek. We stayed at Shangri La Boutique Hotel for 3 nights before & after the trek. Excellent location in Thamel, good value roof top breakfasts and helpful staff. There is a good range of restaurants, shops, cafes, cash machines, money exchange etc within a few minutes walk. Highly recommended. Tim & Clive.

Absolutely amazing Hostel with a very nice roof terrace, good breakfast, fresh water, hot shower and good matresses :-). It's in a quiet sidestreet of Thamel only 10 minutes walk to Durbar Square. The staff was soo nice! They helped me with everything. You can also arrange a trekking guide with them. I stayed here for 8 days and was very sad to leave at the end, but I will defenitely come back here in 3 months when I have to get my visa-Extension.

Shangrila Boutique Hotel is a warm and welcoming Hostel in the Centre of Kathmandu. It is situated in the heart of Thamel, the most vibrant neighbourhood and backpackers epicentre of the capital. The staff is most helpful and always in for a talk or laugh. The travel agency inside the Hostel and all staff are always willing to help you with everything you need: from planning your trek to sightseeing or arranging transport. It is a great place to discover Kathmandu from and the rooftop + bar are amazing to meet people and hang out with the staff at night. Would strongly recommend!
