Cozy historic cottage . The whole place is quaint warm and most of all clean. This old house is well kept but of course made of wood so that is to be expected you will hear it when you walk on the second floor , Duh?! We stayed in the smallest room but it was enough space to be comfortable and to move around . The bed was super comfy it was hard to get out of it and there was adequate heating in the room. I guess the reason for the very good rating instead of excellent was just that the water mixer needs fixing. We didnt complain but will advise on our way out. Things get broken so unfortunately it was on our time here. The hosts were lovely Ian and evelyn in welcoming us and making sure we are happy and attended to. The light breakfast was nice , good amounts of breads selection theres berries and stone fruits yoghurt , a selection cereal muesli , many teas (which i love) and all sorts of milk selection. Lovely tea cups and saucerz . They also offer little sweet snacks for afternoon tea and the fireplace lit up in the afternoon which I think is amazing. We also used their entertainment room which got up to date movies which we also enjoyed . This area is about 12 mins walk to the restaurants and shops and about 20 mins to echo point which is great to burn off the breakfast hehe. There is also a bus stop which is about 5mins walk if you want to dont want to walk that much. A lovely experience we will consider coming back.

Kurrara is a charming, family-run guest house. Set in one of the original historic estate homes with small, cosy rooms and full of antiques, it has an old world, traditional Blue Mountains feel about it. I’d recommend arriving in time for afternoon tea, a complimentary selection of sweet treats, tea and coffee which was laid out in a pretty dining/lounge area. Breakfast was included. We sat out in the sun room area, overlooking the English cottage-style garden. There was a good selection of hot and cold food - cereals, fruits and eggs done to order. In the evenings there is a cosy sitting/reading room, with complimentary port (although disappointingly this had already been polished off by the time we got back from our restaurant). Location is very convenient. It’s close to the very popular Echo Point Lookout and the start of the Three Sisters walking trail. The Katoomba town centre is only a couple of minutes by car (but a long-ish walk). The owner/host was there to greet us on arrival and was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants, walks and things to do. Overall, if you are looking for something with character and a personal touch, then this is perfect.

The Kurrara Guest House is truly historic and most comfortable. Iain was a fabulous host, welcoming with excellent travel tips and served a delectable breakfast before sending us on our way. Conveniently located to see the sights of Katoomba and walking distance to the main drag and restaurants. Recommend highly!

The historic feel of the house was really lovely. Everything was clean and the sitting room was nicely stocked with coffee, tea, and complimentary port. We enjoyed that space after other more cramped hotel rooms in our travels. The location of the house is great for walking to the town for dinner and to the Blue Mountains trails and Scenic World. We found the bed a little uncomfortable because under the sheets was some wiring for heat, which we didn’t want or need. The room was already quite warm. While the continental breakfast was great, it felt rushed. The information package said 8-9:30, but it was more like 9:00 when things were being wrapped up and taken away. However, I feel I must add that the host was both helpful and friendly. He even helped us when we couldn’t figure out how to get our rental car trunk open. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

We booked this place because of its history and because it featured a romantic fireplace in the room. Unfortunately we were not allowed to use and considering the colder weather it was highly disappointing. The romantic atmosphere was learly dented. If we add that we could hear EVERYTHING from the next bedroom (quite frisky) you can immagine the romance vanishing even more quickly. And if you thought of sleeping in late you can forget it about because of the breakfast room next to us. Good overall but clearly not great, not at that price.

Lovely stay at Kurrara Guest House…Iain and Evelyn were fantastic hosts and couldn’t do enough to help. It’s a convenient location - about a 15 min walk from both the town centre and the Echo Point lookout. Would definitely recommend!

The property (while historic), is gorgeous! Staff were very friendly and while parking inside the property was a little tight for bigger cars, there is plenty of street parking. Look forward to returning there in the future!

Absolutely gorgeous heritage property with charm and character. Loved the library and little extras - like port in the room and good quality bathroom items. Breakfast was lovely and owners friendly and helpful.
