Really where to begin…Whalers Cove was what we needed. If you need to get away from everything that causes you stress, this is the place to go. This place will calm you with its beauty and ocean breeze and so perfectly located your every need is met. Wonderful restaurants and fun little shopping areas if you want or you can hide away, get some groceries and a good book and never see anyone. The pool is beautiful and never crowded, the condos are extremely clean and welcoming. The lush landscape is impeccable. We come back every chance we get.

This is the best place to stay in Kauai. Oceanfront, easy access to great beaches, great restaurants, and shops, a magnificent pool and a lawn for the kids to horse around. We stayed in Unit 124, which was in beautiful shape. We had to split up our two young kids between the two bedrooms so they wouldn't wake each other up, but there was plenty of room for my husband and me to crash in the living room, and the view was incredible. Can't wait to go back and take the master for ourselves!!

We loved Whalers Cove and unit 136 was precisely as described - amazing views, great bedrooms, new bathroom, and a dated kitchen. Just loved the vibe, the people we met, including the staff, and the whole experience -- the beach chairs were key. They do a great job and provide an upscale, comfortable experience with understated style at a reasonable price. The bedroom windows and pounding surf and wind were big highlights. We will return someday and recommend to others.

What a beautiful property! Amazing experience in condo 212, had everything we needed. The property is so quiet and secluded at the end of a small street. Really enjoyed the pool and the beautiful sunsets. Service from the staff was incredible, attention to detail was off the charts!

We loved our stay. The resort was perfect… just like we hoped it would be. We also liked condo 211. Everything was great. The staff at the front desk were friendly and very helpful. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. We can’t wait to go back!

Just marvelous.a block off Lawai Road, so quiet. But a short walk from an outdoor mall with everything you could need, including several excellent restaurant, a natural food market, and a Wednesday farmers market. Staff at Whalers Cove are great.

Our family spent two weeks in Whalers Cove Suite 212. It is definitely best place in Poipu. Fantastic views from suite Lanai and pool area. The suite is huge and quiet. Very important thing is that the suite has updated bathrooms with very comfortable showerers. The kitchen is also renovated. Hope to come back next summer to our unforgettable breakfasts on Lanai by the Ocean.

Condo 230 was a welcoming place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. My husband and I were married on the grounds of Whalers Cove overlooking the ocean. We decided to go back for our 25th and bring our daughter so she could see why we loved Kauai so much. We noticed many changes on the island of Kauai. Busier but to be expected with more people that have moved to the island. However it was wonderful seeing that Whalers Cove was still the same. Very well maintained as it was 25 years ago. Updated interior to the condo we stayed in. The grounds were still as beautiful as they were 25 years ago. We watched the sunsets every evening on the same stone bench where we watched them 25 years ago. I wonder if the Koi in the pond outside the office are still some of the same…I know they can live a long time. They were definitely a welcoming sight since we had pictures by that area when we got married. My only complaint about the condo was the window in the tub/shower area…it was huge and I felt very much on display. I hung towels for privacy. Maybe some type of blind or shutter could be added?! Other than that everything else was wonderful. I had left my blow dryer and hair straightener behind and they were generously mailed back to me in Iowa. If you are thinking of a trip to Kauai please consider Whalers Cove for your stay. You will not be disappointed!

We enjoyed a week stay at Whalers Cove. We have stayed at several other places in Poipu over the years (Hyatt, private house, and other condos) and we like this the best because (1) it is right on the water, (2) it is a quieter, smaller and very well-maintained complex and (3) it is within walking distance of many non-resort restaurants and shops. It isn't within walking distance to a big beach (baby beach is a short walk), but we prefer to drive to a quieter locals' beach (Salt Pond Breach is a great alternative to the busy beaches in Poipu). I booked directly with Whalers Cover and would do that again. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Fabulous whale and dolphin watching and great sunsets from the deck. While the complex is an older one, the grounds and maintenance crew do a great job keeping it very nice and our unit was nicely (not cheaply) furnished, well maintained and entirely clean - a step up from other condo units we have seen. Having no A/C was not an issue for us. It was so cool and breezy that we ended up closing most of the windows at night. Overall a great condo experience.
