Malika Khiva Hotel

Het hotel is super gelegen, vlakbij de hoofdpoort naar de stad, met prima ontbijt, goede bedden en prima personeel. Het nadeel is wel dat de wifi het slecht doet, maar je bent zoveel in de stad dat dat niet uitmaakt. Het is qua uitvalsbasis honderd procent dit waard

Dit hotel ligt echt op een toplocatie, fantastisch tegenover de toegangspoort van de oude stad. Het heeft een leuke inrichting. De kamers zijn netjes. De bedden zijn behoorlijk. Sanitair kon het niet aan. Door de locatie toch wel heel leuk.

Malika Khevaek was the only hotel inside Khiva’s walled city – what a fantastic location! Everything was within a hundred meter reach! Everyone else had to enter the walled city gates every day to see the sites. The hotel operated a covered outdoor restaurant, one of the most picturesque eating places in the walled city. Breakfast food was quite limited. But dinner was very good. It was obviously a family run affair. The small informal lobby led to the courtyard. Around the courtyard were two floors of guest rooms; clearly, this had once been a rich merchant’s villa. The walls are nicely decorated with desert-caravan-bazaar scenes. We found it odd that there was no trash can in the room. The phone didn’t work so my wife had to keep going down to talk to the front desk. The rooms had tea sachets and cups, though we had to ask for a hot water kettle. Breakfast wasn’t impressive at all.

Arrived at night and the walk through the old town was amazing. Basic facilities, but we had a large seating area and a separate bedroom, with a huge bathroom. Breakfast was typical, but kept coming and coming. Probably about 16 different dishes.

Einfache kleine Zimmer. Das Foyer war groß, eine Lobby-Bar gab es nicht. Frühstück gab es in einem riesigen Saal und würde serviert. Das einzig gute an dem Hotel war die Lage. Nur wenige Schritte und man ist am Westtor der Altstadt.
