拉扎爾居住民宿(Lazar Residency Homestay)

An awesome place to stay, a lovely family and great value rooms, clean, spacious and characteristic. Close to central Fort Kochi, all the amenities and sights to see are within walking distance, can also get to any of them for about 30-50 rupees. Nice size wet room, clean and functional. Food in the morning was superb. Thank you very much, we will be coming back!

It’s a honestly and I guess things haven’t been taken care of since Covid. We were given the wrong room. The room we had was pretty dirty. But they were kind enough to refund one night as we couldn’t stay another night as the neighbors were also super loud until late night in addition to the lack of cleaning in the room.

Lazary is a quite simple and basic homestay ina quiet environment. They serve simple Indian breakfast. Clean room and bathroom. However, good value for the price. The position in a small road is good and you can walk to the main points of interest in Kochi.

Large room with three separate beds but non-functional. Yes, I understand that they have a room available not meant to be a hotel room, but why not rent out to make money. AC and WiFi non functional. Dark closed room. Couldn’t open windows. Needed to keep lights on. Dirty unusable wooden cabinet with age-old newspapers strewn as shelf liner. Folks, clean up the cabinet, paint and use store bought regular shelf liner but never those dirty newspapers. No place to put luggage even for one person. For a three-night stay, provided three packets of coffee, no spoons/stirrer, two water bottles, three towels, and then the owners disappeared on the second. No way to contact to have the issues fixed. Seems like the glowing reviews by foreigners are results of just a brief opportunity to meet ‘some’ or ‘any’ local’ despite the inconveniences, and that’s understood. It’s like going to a jungle safari despite the mosquitoes, insects, and threat from wild animals. Anyhow, not impressed.

It was not so good though the hosts are pleasing. Location is ok and personally felt it may not be value for money taking into account the plenty of better home stays available abundantly.

I liked the room i was given and that the manager was gracious enough to satisfy personal requests for room cleaning, etc even though they were hard-pressed for time and energy due to some contingencies during my visit

I stayed here in March as a female solo traveler on a first time trip to India. I found the room to be clean, the hosts wonderful and warm, including their daughter, Anju, and the area convenient and safe to walk. I loved that I had hot water here - not always the case in some of the other Homestays.

It was great staying in a lazar house.
