Korcula Island and the old town is a lovely place to visit and we wanted to stay somewhere slightly out of town where we could relax by the pool if we wanted. This hotel is actually a resort catering for a variety of holidaymakers. It is situated in its own small bay with the woodland frontage going along the bay edge from the main hotel, past a hotel bar or two and the camping area and then you can continue into town. There is the hotel part with a variety of rooms, and the campsite part where holidaymakers bring their camper vans. There are a variety of restaurants, from the central buffet restaurant that I believe has to be prebooked, to a variety of bars and outlets along the bay. The hotel seems to command a lot of the seafront along this bay so there are bars and a couple of places to eat spread along the promenade, but is very green and forested and not over developed. Rooms are in their own blocks and not in one big hotel complex. Our room was a junior suite, it appeared to have been recently refurbished and was very modern, clean and everything worked. We had a fridge, which seemed to be common in all the hotels we stayed in during our time in Croatia. I don't think any rooms here have a sea view as they are up the hill behind the pool and restaurants and there are also trees in the way, but many have balconies that you can chill out on and watch the world go by. We booked bed and breakfast. A large buffet selection in a large seating area was lovely in the morning. The terrace overlooked the pool and the bay and views were stunning. The same location is used for evening meals but we did not opt for those, preferring to walk into the town. The pool is great, and the views from the pool area magnificent. If you prefer you can sit by the sea, or swim in the sea, which many people were doing. We walked to the town most days. It is an easy walk, around the small bay the hotel is in, then across to the harbour area. Plenty of eating places on route or on arrival and a relatively flat walk. Not much traffic where you are alongside roads. There is a water taxi service as well, which many people use. We used this for one of our days as the water taxi also does a circular route around the small islands and we went over to the small island of Badja where there are tame deer and a nice circular walk around the island, with a cafe/restaurant at the boat landing point. We both felt we had made the right choice with this hotel. It was close enough to amble to the town, but far enough out to be in its own large area of land, and it was scenic and peaceful. There was a large supermarket just across the road so we were able to stock up on room snacks and bottles of water and other drinks with no problems. The car ferry port is nearby, which is not the same location as the pedestrian ferry port, so many Croatians come here with their cars and camper vans. A good sign if the locals are using the place.
